Lee Collet Neck Sizer Die

I've used one on a 22-250 bolt gun and they can leave a small ridge in the neck between where the collets close. Did a great job sizing and the necks were true but that ridge was still there. Might catch on something going in the chamber.

Wouldn't you want to full length size for an autoloader anyway?

I use an RCBS full length die set for my 300 BO and best I remember, it's a small base die.

Not recommended for auto-loaders or lever action guns, because the shoulders need to be bumped back for reliable operation in those guns. A bolt-action gun has more mechanical advantage when it comes to closing the bolt.

For me, which sizing die to use depends on the caliber. I really like the Redding full-length bushing style sizing dies for bottleneck rifle cartridges, especially for precision loads. Without the bushing, they can be used as body sizing dies. Picking the right bushing will reduce the amount the brass is worked, which will lead to longer brass life.

For any new calibers I pick up, I will probably go with the Redding bushing sizing dies, but I still have a lot of Lee dies (and other brands) that I don't plan on getting rid of.
