Let the smack talk begin....

Welcome to the dark side!!

The upside to all the Grock hate is the look on people’s faces when you out shoot them with one!!, or so I’ve been told, I’m still working on that part....

I’ve agonized over this and finally decided to try to atone. Bro @draco88, I apologize for my previous comments in this thread. I hadn’t considered the weight peer pressure must have had on your recent decision. I’ve come to understand.

We kool?

Who's this? I thought Chuck Norris was the new Glock guy.

Come on guys, I am not a Glock person either but like that “beer goggles” chick at closing they are tempting to take home to get the job done. They do seem to try harder to make up for their “short comings”. Sure they are chunky and not pleasing to the eye but the do the job when you really need one. Yes, I have a couple Glocks hidden on magnetic mounts around house just in case and they don’t take much upkeep but ready if you need one. I bet there are others who do the same ...

I will transfer your number out of my phone...and onto the bathroom wall of every gay bar I can find.
To stop the inevitable influx of hot dog pics, please remit a penance of 500 rnds 147 gr 9mm, payable immediately :D
You go to gay bars? A Glock and gay bars. You did transform rapidly.

Yep. Have them in the service van and on two floors of the house. They always go bang. Every time. Even filthy dirty.

Not supposed to be bad mouthing the pistol...supposed to be bad mouthing me for buying the pistol
See how far off topic we’ve gotten? :D

Soooo...it was a polymer/subcompact day at the range for the wife and I.
She shot her new PPS (hated it, keep an eye on bst lol), her new VP9sk (loves it), and her trusty ol G26.
I put around 240 through the G48. Mixed head stamp 115, 124, and 147. Seems to like the 147s. Didnt measure, but held good group sizes at 7, 10, and 15 yards.
Recoil was very controllable and by the end, I was getting decent 2 and three shot strings.
I see now why everyone who gets a Glock immediaty changes sights and works on the trigger. With a little work, I think the internals could be smoothed up and be all right, but that damn trigger safety bar has got to go. I'll probably put TFX Pros on it in the future because that's what I have on just about everything else.
With a little effort, this could be a keeper.

Side note, I laid them out at the range and this was the convo with the wife:

Mrs D: I still cant believe you bought a Glock.

Me: Yeah, me either.

Mrs D: I think we should both see other men.

Love that woman lol

How’d you end up with such a smart woman?

I assume you’ve also shot the SK. Waddya think of it?

I did. Put around fifty through it.
Held really tight groups with it, trigger is smooth as butter...the oleo kind, not @Butter lol...handled recoil really well, accurate, felt good in hand.
I liked it...but not enough to unseat my P01 as my carry gun.
I had a VP9 not long after they were introduced but sold it because I was carrying a PPQ at the time and they were pretty redundant. Ended up selling the PPQ later when I started moving back to my metal framed da/sa roots (learned handgun shooting on a Betetta 92).
Still have a 5 in PPQ and will probably end up adding a M2 style VP9 and the 5 inch long slide kit at some point.

I have plenty of carry guns, some with more capacity, some that are more concealable. Try as I might, I keep carrying the VP9SK. There's just something about the way it fits my hand that makes me look as if I actually know how to shoot (almost). o_O

I’d say another year or two should cover it. :D

Pfff. Glocks are a fabulously reliable, accurate tool. No more, no less. G26 is the perfect EDC gun for 95% of my occasions. With a TLR-1S & Vortex Venom, my G34 should be perfect for nightstand duty & range toy. 'N honestly, I'd like a handful of G19s to keep stashed around the house & for road trip carry. I figure I'm already 2 guns into the platform & I'm kinda OCD about platform commonality. Same manual of arms, mag interchangeability, etc. Just makes perfect sense to me.

Not sexy like those Czech beauties (which I love, BTW. I will have a 97B one day.), but if I ever have to use them 'socially', I won't be as pissed when they come back from the SBI lab all scratched up & dinged.
