Just found out my mom has liver cancer. She found out last Thursday, and just went into the hospital last night. They have done cat scans, pet scan next Monday, and did a liver biopsy today. I'm going up to stay with her tonight, but just wanted to get this out. Im pissed, sad, wondering, etc. She had breast cancer four years ago, and as of right now, don't know if it's from that, or on it's own so to speak. She has never smoked, doesn't drink, never been on drugs, so I'm thinking it's from the breast cancer, but we don't know for sure yet. I went through a cancer deal with my dad, he found out on his 42nd birthday he had esophageal cancer, and now has been cancer free for 22 years. Hoping my mom can pull through this, but so far her doc has said she has lesions all over the liver, and her regular weight is about 125#'s at 5'5", she weighed in last night at 91#'s, not good. I'm just a basket of wtf, don't know what to think, pissed off, sad, etc. Sorry for the rant and rambling, just needed to vent to this wonderful family of degenerates I'm a part of, lol. Thanks friends.
Shane.

Tough man.
I will say a prayer tonight that God would touch your mother with His healing hand and give you the strength you need to get through.

Prayers lifted up, there is not much to be thankful for living in our current times. However, the modern medicine we have access to is amazing. Pray hard and keep fighting for her.

Shane, sorry to hear this, you and Mom and the rest of your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Shane, you know how to reach me if you need anything. In a few days you'll have more facts and know how to help your mom deal with this.

I'm always sorry to hear news like that. Prayers to you and your family.

A heart felt thanks to you gents. Knowing is half the battle, and right now, we don't know much. In a few more days, we will know where we stand, and what we can do, and will make a game plan. I'll keep you guys updated as I find out. Thanks again everyone, it means more than you know.

Incoming prayers.

The waiting is always the worst part. The processes just take time. Understand that. Don't dwell on the unknown. It will be what it will be.
Meanwhile, watch your own health. If she goes down for a test, take a nap. Watch your nutrition cause you're not gonna want to eat. Consider vitamins, Boost nutrition drinks and bananas. You're no good to anyone if you get sick.
Hang in there. Pace yourself. It's not an easy road.

Prayers for your Mom and your family.
Might a transplant be an option?
I know two guys that have had one and they are leading a pretty good life.

I hate it for you and thoughts for you and your mom. Do yourself a favor and take some time to decompress. If you don't you wont be any help to your mother.

Very sorry to hear this, and I agree with the others: take care of yourself while taking care of others. Lean on people if you need help.
Prayers are coming your way.

Livers are amazing organs. For the last 5 years i've been at Stage 4 Cirrhosis of the liver. And wouldn't go back for another biopsy, cause I just didn't wanna know, there is no Stage 5. I finally went back for a biopsy about 3 months ago. Miraculously it came back as a Stage 1 Fibrosis. So I'm living proof of what a liver can come back from. I'll be thinking good thoughts for your Mom & the rest of your family. Miracles do happen.

Hey all, thanks again for the well wishes/prayers/thoughts.

Update:: Last night they took her back at 4am for a total body MRI. They weighed her in the room, and she weighed 88 pounds. She cannot keep anything down food wise.
We did get some results back today from the earlier CAT scans, and she has nothing in her chest/abdomen/pelvic regions as far as they can tell. The liver scan/ultrasound showed that the cancer has covered a little more than 50% of the liver. Today around noon, they took her back and did a biopsy of the liver, and when they brought her back, she was in massive pain. They went in right above her belly button. They juiced her up, and within half an hour she was sucking paint off the ceiling, lol. Two hours later, the same deep sleep, which she desperately needs. Nurse told me to go home and get some rest, that she wouldn't know I was even there tonight, so I'll be heading back up in the morning tomorrow and to stay the night. So, that's where we're at for now. Hoping I actually get to meet with her doctor over the weekend so I can find out more from the man himself. Thank you so much again friends.
