Good morning men. I have a 1963 MD63 kit that I'm slowly trying to source parts for (receiver, barrel, maybe an updated FCG). I've also been trying to find my best options for building. As much as I think I'd enjoy building it myself, I just don't think it's worth buying all the tools necessary for just 1 build. So I come to you for advice looking for the best REPUTABLE local builders. Preferably someone between Raleigh and New Bern so I can maybe learn something in the process by being there along the way. Im not opposed to shipping though, that's what I'll have to do anyway. I'd just like to support local. Thanks in advance.

Nice! What receivers and barrels did you go with? I'm thinking Recreator and I've found a Romanian barrel but it's $285! I'd love to find an FB Radom, but they seem to be nonexistent. Morrissey receivers on both of these, though I like Recreator and Childers receivers better. But Morrissey makes a solid, no frills receiver. OG barrels. If you can't find a solid Romanian barrel for a price you want to pay, those FN barrels made for PSA look great at $225. If you're not already on the AK Files, you might also luck out posting a WTB ad over there.

Do it, ALG AK triggers are exceptional and well worth the cost. As for builders, shoot Digitalpaladin10 a message. Hes got gun #2 of mine and I'm collecting parts for #3.
