My name is Jay. Along with my wife, Dian, we are recent transplants from The People's Republic of Massachusetts (where it all started and where history went to die). So embarrassing there and sad that after some family umbilical cords were taken care of, we voted with our feet to move to the great state of South Carolina. We kept on reading that saying "I wasn't born in the South, but got here as soon as possible".

We found a nice place to call home in Horry County. Church, beach, NC border (have family in Wallace NC), and locally grown produce, all within driving distances. People are mostly very friendly. While we've met other transplants, we've met and found southern people are much more hospitable, mostly after they discover we moved here to be alongside more like minded people than people from where we came from.

I have a variety of questions regarding weapons, training, laws, clubs, competitions, first aid, prepping, reloading, and more 2A and general non 2A things. I'll try and post in the appropriate forums.

I'm not a very good shot at all, but enjoy the challenge to get more accurate while keeping myself and those around me safe.

I’m a yankee that wants to move south but I’m kind of tethered in Pa with my parents (89/90) right now. I have interacted with several members here and have found them all to be helpful, welcoming and honest. I’m chomping at the bit while waiting for the right time to relocate. Welcome to the forum, I’m glad you were able to escape ‘Mass aSTUPIDS’ !

@Blue440 We totally understand your predicament and had similar "responsibilities" that had to be "resolved" prior to us leaving. You're correct about the "MassaSTUPIDS". It is absolutely a terrible place to live if you're a God loving, Family values, conservative, 2A responsible person., For some reason, we were ALWAYS outnumbered and surrounded by the exact opposite of us.

I look forward to hearing that you made the relocation in the future. For all the "issues", we found it 100% worthwhile and rewarding.
