Look What Someone Dropped

Nice! I had planned to go look for sheds but I don't have anywhere that isn't trespassing near me lol

how much hiking did you do to find all those in one day?

I actually missed out on this trip. One of my buddies and his son picked these up. They found em in about 3 hours but we've kinda learned where to look. We've hunted the property for 15 yrs.

It always amazes me that people can find sheds like that. I've never tried. Would be neat to do sometime.

Check hedge rows, fence line crossings, thick brushy deer trail areas or around food plots. Timing has to be right, critters will chew them up at some point. The lighter the antler color naturally the easier to spot.
No expert here but got lucky and found this set after Easter Sunday service a few Springs ago in my back woods. One was 150 yards from the other. It’s fun to hunt sheds...but even more fun to hunt, kill deer and put great meat in the freezer.

Look closely, they were left by this guy. Never got a bowshot at him, a nocturnal feeder.

Overcast days when the ground is wet from a recent rain is the best time to look. There's something about those conditions that really make the sheds more visible, especially ones that have just dropped.

My late lab was a blast to go shed hunting with and once she figured out I liked them, she would just bring them up to the porch for me. Have never gotten a matched pair though. Need to try it with the new mutt.

Man...great memories with your pup would be an understatement. How my wife and I found a matched pair...as I think back, truth is the Lord only knew on that beautiful Easter Sunday.

We run our trail cameras about 10 months out of the yr and keep baiting until it looks like they've all dropped. It helps alot knowing the sheds are on the ground when you're looking for them.

Also check blown down trees on south facing slopes that get sun most of the day. Bucks love to lay in blowdowns
