Looking for a scope to put on the 204 Ruger. I like the Whiskey3s that I have on my 308 and 6.5CM but would like one with external turrets. I have a Nikon P-223 and a Burris AR-223 with external turrets. I might be shooting out to 500-yards but most likely 300 to 400 yards.

Any suggestions?

Diamond back tactical? They seem nice for the $

I just picked up a Nikon P-Tactical. Mil/Mil with external turrets. I got a refurbished one but I think new they run around 200. I'm impressed with it so far.

Nikon's P-Tactical scope is very nice. There are some good deals going around right now on the M-223 BDC line right now. MONARCH glass and Nikon's BDC reticle that you can dial in using Spot On. The new M-Tactical line is $100 more than your budget but offer's 30mm tube, mil/MOA reticle and MONARCH glass. A heck of a scope for sub $400. Doesn't matter if you find a M-308 or .223 , you can dial either one into your rifle, scope, and ammo using Spot On. A very accurate and useful tool. Rant., is correct that the P-Tactical 3-9 MOA/MRAD line runs around $200. I know there are some deals to be had right now if you check around.

After looking around for a scope, Cabela's had one that I have on my first AR-15 and love it. It is a Nikon P-223 and it was well below what I was going to spend. If was only $128 delivered to my door. It has the external turrets and easy to reset to zero adjustments. I have no problem with the one on the AR out to 300+ yards. I should have bought another one to put on a 22 rifle.

I second the diamond back tactical. I have a 4-12 and like it. Don’t currently have a rifle to use it on but trying to remedy that.

Bushnell Trophy Extreme X30 6-24x50...$250. I put it on a 308 shooting 155grain ELDM bullets at 2950fps. The Xmas tree reticle allowed me with a 100yd zero to hit steel out to 800yds without turning any knobs. Pretty amazing scope for the money. Only negative is you need a jewelers philips head screw driver to reset turrets to zero.
