Came home today and found that my 3 three Chowhounds got into my 9 mm pistol stash and scattered the ammo into the yard..I was able to find about 50 live rounds out of a hundred that are now lost across the yard.. This should be an interesting time this spring when I have to mow the yard again..

Also, how was your ammo accessible to make it's way out to the yard?
doggy door or something? Did they carry the whole dang box out there and then start shredding it?

Time to store in ammo cans!

It’s great that you’re an optimist, but you know the dogs are gonna be crapping live rounds over the next few days. Probably need to decide if you want to get then x-rayed tomorrow or hope that they don’t have a serious obstruction through the long weekend.

Had a dog once eat the lug nuts from a tractor. They may be man’s best friend, but they are not very bright most of the time.

You nailed it with the dog door. I got sloppy and left a couple of newly made laying on the ammo bench. One or more of the dumb ones dragged them out into the side yard and tore the boxes apart. Guess they like the smell of brass, they must I guess since they smell each others butt all the time..

I’m betting you’ll find some coated 9mm...and not the blue type! My dog is like a goat, especially with kids socks and hair!

First week after I got my current dog from the shelter, she swallowed 3 tennis balls whole. Luckily she’s a fairly big dog with an iron stomach and passed them right out. Still got her x-rayed. Now she’s not allowed to chew anything she can easily swallow.

Ammo, lug nuts, tennis balls, etc yet when I bury a tiny pill in a wad of cheese my Labs spit it out in a millisecond ...

Weirdest thing mine have ever done was swallow tinsel off the Christmas tree ... the dingleberry decorations caused more coffee spitting incidents to remember.

That was so you could hide behind the Christmas tree during the Russian nuclear attack.

The one we have now, an 11.5 pound Shih Tzu, doesn’t really swallow weird things...but only because we catch her chewing on them first.

The weirdest was she had a hunk of white plastic we could figure out where it came from. Then we realized it was one of the covers that go over the bolts attacking the toilet to the floor. Previous dog lived here for 14.5 years and never once pulled one of those off.

Then there was the day she came out of my son’s room like this:

I think we still have a bunch at mom’s house, but I was thinking it was tin and not lead, also that it was from the 40’s.

I went and looked it up, the stuff was tin plated lead, it wasn’t imported after the early 1970’s because, lead.
