I was fondling my Saint (lol) tonight, and since its been on loan to a friend for over a year, I'm not exactly familiar and comfortable with it as yet, and I noticed that its STIFF in nearly every function, the safety especially. And since I own eight other ARs, this stiffness jumped out at me.
So either out of boredom, or when I change out the BCM pistol grip, the safety lever is getting greased, and I'll see how, and if it smooths up.
Anyone else here run into overly stiff AR fire controls, ever?

I’ve been known to trim I coil of the safety detent spring to fix just that same thing.

I've had the selector be tight on at least two builds.
Never lubed them, they loosened nicely in a short time.
I do compulsively flip them on and off in use though, like any time the cheek comes off the stock it's on.
The other controls have always been alright.

I gave the detent groove a light swipe with a brush dipped in some old school Lubriplate.......problem solved...

The detent itself, especially when new and not worn down some, can give it that stiff feeling. Lubrication is masking what will be solved by using the rifle and many back and forth selections between Safe and Fire

You are correct, but.....the light swipe of grease won't hurt as the point of the detent wears in.
