The Wife here is disabled and cant chew beef that well any more and I got looking in the freezer and found some frozen beef that's been vacuum sealed for about 2 years. Dug out the elect meat grinder and found a brisket flat, some strip steaks and cube steak. Spent a lil time grinding it all together and then refroze 12 lbs of ground beef into 1/2 lb portions and vacuum sealed again. Ive got a bit more in there that we bought pre Biden days so it didn't cost me that much. Will tackle that project when this is gone.

That’s a good use of old meat. I’ve been wanting to grind my own beef and put some different cuts in it for better flavor than the store bought stuff.

No pics (Booo! I know) but yesterday I finally unboxed the cuber attachment I bought a few years back and made my own deer cubed steak.

Although it cubed the meat, it is a heckuva lot more coarse than any cubed steak I've ever seen, but I figure it'll eat ok.

Oh, I also ground and froze roughly 15lbs of deer burger. This time with no added fat. @chiefjason clued me in on making it that way for things like spaghetti sauce, chili, etc., when you don't really need a bunch of fat being cooked off.

Sometimes you can find chuck roast on sale for $3 a lb, look for the fattier ones and you get about a 80/20 mix.
