Magazine "Inventory"

I just dont' understand the question....

That's like saying, "How much money do you think is enough?"...... o_O
The question escapes me also........ Don't understand the concept.o_O:confused:

You might be a hoarder if you have mags for guns you don't own........

So y'all continue to buy magazines at every opportunity for every gun you own, constantly increasing your supply without ever reaching a self-imposed, "that's good, I have plenty to serve my current and future needs" point?

Yep... During the high-supply low cost times....and even then.. it's not like I am buying a case.. just a little here, a little there...

Except for my Anschutz... f'them and their $80 mags...

My personal "need" limit is 5 mags per firearm. The only ones I don't hold that for is a Ruger American .308 (1 spare) and a savage in .17 (expensive as hell).

After that I do buy common mags I find for super good deals. AR mags too. I've given and sold many of those to family and friends who get their first rifle and need a mag or three.

I have backed off buying more. I have a safe shelf full, is that enough? I would buy some more if I came across a deal or someone wanted me to go in on a bulk buy or something.

I want enough so I don’t have to reload mags during a class. I was successful in that venture at my most recent 4-hour 1:1 session with Apex.

and a few extra that can stay loaded with my truck gun and bag gun

Every gun has whatever came with it except Glock mags and AR-15 and AR10. Dozen for AR15 and 8 for AR10 and a dozen to fit Glocks. Have drums also but drums suck to reload. Basically I’m going with Glock guns and ARs as the go to guns with 1068 rounds loaded now for showtime.

Ideally, I'd have enough rifles so that every window of the house has at least 1 pointing outward, with a skilled shooter aiming it.
Then, each rifleman needs enough mags loaded to avoid having to load more during the firefight.
So, how many mags is that?
if that were my goal, i'd be done buying.
i'm not.

63...I feel comfortable with that.

Now, I need to work on bumping up the G19 magazine inventory.

Instead of a maximum number, I think of it as a minimum number per gun. What's a load out for an AR, 200rds? So, maybe 6 +1 per rifle and maybe 3-4 per handgun. Or if your carry is a 3 mag carrier then 3+1. Whatever your carry method is full + the one in the gun. That's a minimum battle ready count for each gun to be put into action. Above that is backup for repair/replacement, trade/barter and seige defense. Which I believe should be another full set each. ;)

Two is one. One is none.

I thought I had enough for everything close to 10 per pistol, probabley close to 50 speed loaders for revolvers and had around 25, 30 round AR mags along with around 15 ,20 rounders . Then PSA put 223 /5,56 ammo on sale for $249.00 per 1000 with 10 free P mags. Now I have 40 Pmags. So now I have enough magazines. But If I see any pistol mags at pre covid prices I usually will pic them up. Same with ammo . Not buying ammo now:mad:

I think I have 4-7 for each handgun, and I have about 50 AR mags, so about 10 or so per AR.

I have enough.

If crap hits the fan, I have enough mags that as some wear our or break, I can use the broken ones for parts to fix the good ones. I can't wrap my mind around stashing back hundreds of them. I sure as heck won't live through any fight that requires that many.

Five for each pistol and rifle. Have some extra Pmags from the promo a few years back, traded some for window FDE for my Beretta ARX rifle.

I like to keep 10 magazines for each pistol, unless it's just a range toy ( like a DE, i just have 3). AR magazines I like to keep 10 loaded, and have 10 kept empty.

I like to have a minimum of 5 for each pistol except my .22's. If it's a gun I'll use for idpa I try to have at least seven.

Rifle wise I'm not sure yet. I have around 10 for 5.56 and 5 for .300 Blackout. I didn't buy my first AR until this year and my inventory there is still in progress.

Be it mags, ammo, or reloading supplies, I just keep ratting it away when prices are low, although I put a cap on reloading supplies at 5k rounds.

I have many more than pic has at this point, I aspire to go broke when we have to pay a nfa tax stamp for my unserialized standard magazines
In anticipation of a socialist government that imposes taxes on each mag, i have have been getting rid of all of mine because i don't want to pay the taxes.
nobody NEEDS a 30rd mag to hunt deer.
so here i am, with no high capacity magazines anymore. yup.

I’m currently sitting in roughly 40-45 AR mags which are a mix of Gen2-3 PMAGs & Military surplus mags with upgraded Magpul followers, I don’t even look to purchase new AR mags unless I find them at insanely low prices.

I did recently find some Lancer purple & red translucent 30 round mags that I simply HAD to buy, they weren’t cheap and I definitely didn’t “need” them, but man, when I saw them in stock at a local shop, I had to pick up a couple haha.

I shoot my Shadow 2 Orange at matches most of the time and I currently have 3 factory 17 round mags & 3 21 round aftermarket mags, the G17 has 7 17 round mags with factory Glock +2 extensions and 5 21 round PMAGs, since I can use the G17 & PMAGs in my G19 I only keep 5 factory mags for it and I rotate them every 2-3 months.

I gave up buying standard capacity ar mags once I was over 20 magazines. Now I buy 40 rounders when I see them on sale 😂 I just want to go to range day or training classes and not have to reload magazines just pick another out of my pile and roll on. It's hard to turn down random FB posts for $5 mags. I may have a problem

See these often on the Combat Armory site. 40 rounders.

Ended up with a box that had 92 in it somehow or another.
Sold a few to forum members, kept most, and called it good lol

5-7 each for my handguns and 10 for the rifles. I figure if i survive the shootout with the first bad guy you can add at least one more to that number....and If i dont survive then screw it.

Umm 8 Pmags for the Saint rather have 10 (working on it) but like some else said if SHTF and you're moving around they should be accessible .
As far as handguns, not sure I understand the question because even with my Super Blackhawk 44 mag(pictured) or GP100 I squeeze the trigger, dump, reload!! LOL!!!

5-10 for BO guns if you ever need it. 2-3 for just because guns.

if your in the situation where 5-10 mags don’t get you out of trouble your screwed anyway
