Just got this email from Major, please lift up his dad in prayer:

Hi Amp,

My Dad's bladder cancer has spread throughout his body and we are entering into a phase of pain management. My Dad is 89 and lives in the Ft. Mill/Charlotte NC area. Please let our prayers warriors know about this. Thanks bro!

incoming.prayers.

May Mr. Lackey have peace and rest and know his family's love for him.

Prayers sent!

Prayers up.
Be watchful. My mother-in-law died the day after she was put on a morphine patch. Hard to prove that was the cause of death given that she didn't have more than a month left and had been declining for 5 years. But you never know.

Having watched my dad, and my wife's dad both die of cancer, I don't think at this stage that is necessarily a bad thing. It's just a question of how bad should they have to hurt in the meantime.

I concur. My father died from cancer back in 1998. Has was a month shy of his 62nd birthday. He passed so quietly that it was the alarm on the morphine pump that alerted us. The alarm goes off if the draw changes.
It doesn't matter what age they are. It is always a loss when a parent makes that final journey.

Dang, fishy. And I thought mine left too soon at 66 in '95.

I don't know about you, but that has been tattooed in my head since it happened. Like, that's how much time I have left.

Sorry for the derail.

I know what you mean.

My Dad passed in '97 at the young age of 51. The closer I get the more I can feel it weighing on me.
