Car parked at a residence in FL, guy opens the unlocked patrol car and helps himself to the rifle and gear.
Not sure if he had a programmed keyfob to access the patrol car of if it was unlocked.

Updated: teen turned himself into police.

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The teenager arrested for the burglary of an Opa-Locka police cruiser appeared in court Friday morning. The 16-year-old boy was ordered held in juvenile detention for 21 days. Clarke’s family did not attend the court hearing. The teen was arrested Thursday for the police cruiser break-in. Investigators say the teen broke into a marked Opa-Locka police cruiser just after 3:00 a.m. Thursday in Pembroke Pines’ Sunswept community. Surveillance video captured the brazen thief in action. He stole an AR-15 assault rifle, three loaded magazines, a tactical vest with police markings and a Taser, among other things. Police say family and friends of the teen urged him to surrender

Why have cameras watching your vehicle but not hooked to an alarm?? Dumbass should be made to pay for the stolen equip...

Why did the guy even bother to look around? He shoulda been more concerned about his fingerprints... oh well. Sad part is he will probably get caught but the stolen items will never be recovered.

I found this even more interesting:

Holy shyte. I wanna move this to tortuga so I can type the response I wanna type. Wow

Anybody understand what made him lose control?

If he put the seat belt on the idiot and took up the slack, would be harder for him to get out of the cuffs,
should have searched him better, fool was going to set the car on fire, how stupid can he be.

Same if he had properly cuffed him. (hands back to back) but that's uncomfortable and people say it's excessive force.

If the guy got killed or paralyzed after the crash the lawyers will claim the cop did not cuff him properly.
I've seen some officers use waist chains on skinny suspects or petit women on LivePD.

Neither one of them should still be cops. Idiocy! They’re the ones that should be prohibited persons! Stupidity like that displayed prove they’re too stupid to carry firearms let alone a badge!

Again we have the great public servant LEO, leaving weapons unattended, in unlocked, unsecured vehicle. This LEO should be fired and barred from lawenforcement for life.
