Marine New Sniper Rifle MK13

Marines getting old left over rifles again. Army SF turned those in back in 14-15' and went with the Remington M2010. SEALs still using them. I carried one in Balad Iraq back in 05'. Marines have been using the Remington short M40 action since the 70s. During the late 80s the Army adopted the Remington M24 SWS which used a long action. Both guns were chambered in .308 Win/7.62mm Nato. However, some of the Army guns were also in .300 Win Mag hence the long action. The Big Army's M2010 is a updated rifle in .300 Win Mag and ammo the Army is using is hotter load using a 220gr OTM given them out to 1800m, not the 190 gr OTM/1300m the Marines are going to be using. Besides having used the Mk13, I'm also a SOCOM armorer working on them. Long overdue for the Corps however.

Me and my Mk13 Mod 0 back then.

Don’t those contracts include spare parts and service too? It isn’t just a buy it once and done thing right?

A few million for better sniper rifles is money way better spent than one multimillion $ cruise missile blowing up a building the Syrians evacuated 3 days ago.
