It was my dads Gun. He bought it from a pawn shop years ago. I told him I would get it cleaned up and refinished for him. My plan was to give back to him for Christmas this year. He passed away on November 8th this year unexpectantly. My family always gets together so I plan on bringing back to show mama and the family. May end up retiring it or killing one more deer with it then retire it.

As far as the work behind it. Took off the old finish on the wood. A lot of oil seeped into the wood over the years so a lot of scraping and drying as well as multi coats and pulling out imperfections and dents in the wood. The hard work was the receiver and barrel. A lot of nights with a file or sand paper to get all the pitting out without damaging the the lettering or look of the gun. Hot blueing salts process which left a beautiful luster to the gun itself. Crowned the end of the barrel. Went a little to far on the outside but turned out good.
