"Massive Crash" After Van Plows Into Crowd Of People In Barcelona's City Center; Dozens Injured

A "massive crash" has taken place in Barcelona, where a white van has ploughed into a crowd of "dozens of people" in the city's center, at the main Rambla de Catalunya promenade, Spain's La Vanguardia newspaper reports.

Update 1:
White van jumped curb in city center (Plaza Catalunya) - this was during the dinner hour and it's tourist season there. Driver fled on foot. Separate report that 2 armed men entered a restaurant after van crash.

@bigfelipe seems like one needs an AR pistol when traveling anywhere these days.

May not be a sure thing that it's Muslims. Some Catalans are violently opposed to tourism.

Dumb question, how many of you guys ever think of carrying a $10 Cat 5 and know how to correctly apply it? We all have our EDC stuff and I have a Blow Out Bag in my vehicle but nothing on me. Just thinking out loud about it ...

In each car and each first aid kit. Also one in my laptop bag
 
I was on that plaza in April. Nice place and very very easy to drive down, as there's cars on either side of the center shopping zone and no curb to speak of. Plaza Calylunya is the subway stop we got off on each time we went downtown.

I didn't bring mine either. Glad I left when I did. I spent a couple days in and near that square. It's at the head of Las Ramblas. The busiest tourist street in the city. It's a huge pedestrian area flanked by cars on either side. It's elbow to elbow most days. Thousands of people per block when busy. There's also always heavily armed national police there in full kit all day. They know it's a target.

Check out how many times they shoot and hit him and he keeps getting up until they finally kill him.
Were they using weak loads or FMJ's. It is Europe so FMJ's might be likely. Will this wake up the police departments to the value of expanding round defense ammo? Probably not.
Even a 40S&W with range ammo would pass through him. Only a shot to heart or head would stop him with a single shot using such.

Or drugged up. I believe the nazis put crystal meth or something similar in the soldiers survival pouches and that this was also what enabled them to push and drive hard enough to earn the moniker of "super soldiers". Of course the effect is temporary and comes at a price, but if your a suicider, who cares. Just wait. Next up they'll be surgically implanting the devices and they'll be nearly undetectable.
