In a prior thread somewhere here someone asked if there were metal detectors at the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC). The answer is YES, there are. As of last night anyway. There were six of them which made for six lines. They also had you empty your pockets and put everything in a clear plastic bin so they could see what you were carrying and bags and purses were inspected. I felt like I was going through TSA at the airport except they didn't pat me down. I did see several people being wanded too. As for the reason - they said that the show had required it since it was "Hamilton" - a very popular show which I thought really sucked, but that's for another thread on show reviews.
