The suit seeks unsaid financial compensation and is not directed towards the U.S government.

The Mexican government announced Wednesday that it plans to file a lawsuit against several U.S.-based gun manufacturers to stop the illegal flow of weapons across the border, according to documents obtained by The Washington Post.

The documents also the suit says Mexican authorities think the United States' loose gun-control laws contribute to Mexico's high rates of violence.

The suit is set to be filed Wednesday, the day after the 2-year anniversary of the mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, that targeted Latinos and killed 23 people, according to U.S. authorities, The suit will be filed in a U.S federal court in Boston, headquarters to some of the gun manufacturers, according to The Post.

A document from the Mexican Foreign Ministry states the suit was filed because the manufacturers are aware their products are trafficked and used against civilians and Mexican authorities yet "they continue to prioritize their economic benefit, and use marketing strategies to promote weapons that are ever more lethal, without mechanisms of security or traceability."

There has been no immediate or known response from the manufacturers, which include Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc.; Barrett Firearms Manufacturing Inc; Beretta U.S.A. Corp; Glock Inc; and Coltโ€™s Manufacturing Co. Llc.

Maybe they should build a wall.

This is all too much of a "coincidence" with some of the ludicrous lawsuits going out right now. And they all seem to be hitting after the Remington payout...

Odd.

Yep, Everyone is going to try and strap onto that wagon.

Iโ€™d tell โ€œMexicoโ€ to go shit in their sombrero...

LOL

Ok so can the families members of drug users who overdosed and died from the drug trade sue Mexico?

they were smart directing The suit against companies instead of the US government. If they had sue the government then your argument about drug user victims suing the Mexican government would stand.

Odd.
Yes sir... Plain and simple
That is a Pandora's box that will be forever open now thanks to a (cough) bought and paid for justice system

Well, thatโ€™s ironic now isnโ€™t it?!! I guess we as Americans should form a class action and sue Mexico for the impact they have on our government services.

And of course, they should be suing the ATF and DOJ.
You mean the draining of our education, legal , medical and employment systems

I donโ€™t see this going anywhere.

so the fact that a lot of the illegal guns can be traced back to the mexican police and military means nothing, right?
Give them what they ask for. No more guns.

They really want to open this can of worms?

If I was a guessing man or reading the tea leaves I would assume the current regime in the US coordinated this legal action with Mexico in return for soemthing. Probably open borders and freeing up the human trafficking and drug trade. This is not an independent action by Mexico.
