Mini shells in 870....

I tried them and they wouldn't load. I dropped one into the chamber and got it to fire, but it took 3 hands to get it to eject if I remember right.
 
they make an adapter for the Mossberg 500 but I do not think there is one available for an 870 and I don’t think mini shells will work in the 870, a gunsmith can make them work, but then standard shells will not work.

Well that solves that question!
I do have a 500 Burg so will look into that .

I have used the adapter in a 590 and a Maverick. Only shot @5 or 6 from each, but worked fine

I tried the 2.25” Herter’s minis in my 870 and they wouldn’t run either.
 
no adapter needed to feed. The ejection needed to be “snappy” to work reliably, This was with Aguila shells not the federal ones.
