Radial Tires, ABS Braking and Traction Control, and modern suspension have came A LONG way since the musclecar era.Its pretty wild to think about, but its true, that the meanest cars on the show room floor from the 60's and 70's can be out performed by a modern grocery hauler.
I humiliated quite a few cars in my 2002 1.8T Jetta Wagon. Just had a chip and some minor tweeking. Nobody ever expected it to get off the line as quick as it did. And I had decent susp on it and it handled pretty good for a wagon.
Miss that car. It was fun and I could get a ton of stuff in it.

true. But on these old cast iron engines, the first thing to go is the head gasket. That's your fuse. MOAR BOOOOOOOOST (along with copious amounts of moar fuel)It's just so easy to get moar powa out of a turbo! But....blown up stuff can occur.
