Monk fish. Totally Awesome for Chowdahs

Picked up some Monk fish at Costco. Something different. My wife was planning a seafood chowdah.
Turns Monk fish is perfect for chowdahs and soups.
Stays firm when cooked. Doesn't fall apart like many white fish do in soups.
My wife treated me to an awesome Chowdah on Saturday when I got back from China.

Monk Fish, AKA Poor Man's Lobster.
It is one UGLY fish, though.
Probably why it never took off.

We used to serve monk fish at the restaurant I used to cook at. Always thought it smelled awful and not a fish I would order as an entree but prob would do well in a chowder for sure.

Great in Chowdah and bisque.
Stays firm.
Broils well too. My wife seasoned up some. Delicious.

I do like a good fish chowdah!

I can honestly say that my wife's is better than any I gave had in a restaurant.
