Mossberg 42b, 42m,42c

I have a Mossberg 42b project gun that I've been working on a few week now. I am about finished with it but have run into a problem with the safety. Just wondering if anybody here happens to own a Mossberg 42b, 42m, 42tr or 42c bolt action 22 or knows how the trigger spring works with the safety. I can find a few photos and parts list for the gun but very little else. A little information about the gun would be very appreciated.

I have a model 42S, but I think it is completely different. The 42B safety might be similar to the model 44.

Yeah, It's more like the 44. It's amazing how Mossberg liked to play around with model numbers and take a simple 22 bolt action rifle and make so many "near" alike version of it.
In the photos you can see the trigger assembly. The little shiny plunger between the trigger head and the tip of the safety. I "think" that's the way it should be. But, if I move the safety back and forth from safe to fire the plunger will slip off that tip.
