Most disappointing gun you've owned?

AMT Hardballer Longslide 1911 .45acp (bought it new back in the late 70’s early 80’s and the thing coulda been built in the back of a cave in Pakistan - the thumb safety would literally back itself out of the gun over the course of several mags (not boxes!). Crazy.

FN509M, I couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn with that pistol. My friend tried it out and loved it so he bought it from me and still uses it as his nightstand pistol.
Taurus GX4, I was excited about it because of how great the grip felt in my hands and it shot very well, until it didn’t. The striker cover plate kept dropping down slightly when firing keeping it from returning to battery. Taurus promptly fixed it but trust was lost.

G48. 😞

I wanted to like it. But I don’t. I carried a gen3 g23 for years. Moved around a bunch over the last 5 years and stopped carrying because it was a pain in the ass to keep up with each state ccw. I recently started carrying again in NC since we’ve been here for a couple years - tried the g48.

Nope.

I can’t find a suitable grip on it, and I don’t really like the recoil impulse of it. It is easier to conceal than the g23, but otherwise it just doesn’t work for me. I will say the gen5 trigger has a MUCH nicer trigger wall - but I’m kinda used to the mush of the Gen3.

This may rile a few up but here is my honest answer. My answer is the new Smith&Wesson CSX. I thought I would love it. I get home and experience the false reset and heavy heavy trigger pull. Accuracy was to the point that unless I could touch my target with my fingertip the safest place to be was my target. At 12 yards or less the groups were horrible. I worked on producing a handload, I shot several different brands and types of factory ammo. The more I kept it the worse it performed. Finally I saw a Canik at the range and I fired it. Within one magazine I knew that CSX was leaving and I would be buying a Canik. I was wrong though because I got 2 Caniks and the CSX is gone and not all missed. S&W should never have put that pistol on the market. My wife has a Shield in 30 Super Carry and her and I both love it. This was just poor design and rushing a pistol onto the market ahead of its time IMHO..

Keltec PF9 - it broke internally on the first range trip, <200rd. Needless to say that was NOT my new carry gun. It was repaired and promptly sold.

“Colt” M4 Carbine .22lr by Umarex/Walther - felt OK in hand, shot OK, turned out to be built like a toy. The lower receiver and trigger pack are the worst. I was glad to sell that thing. The M&P15-22 is a 12,000x’s better!
Not to mention that long long travel on the trigger and heavy trigger pull weight.

Walter PPQ M2. Great gun shooting wise, but my meaty hands kept dropping the mag and unlocking the slide stop. Mega disappointment with the hopes I had for it

Worst gun I ever owned Mossberg 464 30-30. I have owned Mossberg shotguns for 40 years and never had a bad one. So I thought Mossberg is a good company and went and bought their lever action 30-30.
The gun wouldn't release the rounds from the tube, wouldn't eject, the action would lock up, the sights fell off. It was the worst piece of junk I've ever owned.
I finally just gave it to a relative who loves to collect guns but never shoots them.

Ruger P89. It shot well enough, just always felt like it was going to fall apart in my hand.
I had one of those, in fact it was the first 9mm I ever owned. I had a similar apathy towards mine. I don't have any specific reason, as it shot OK, but it just never clicked with me. When it started acting finicky with certain ammo, I just got rid of it and went back to revolvers for 20 years.

Plastic striker guns have come a long way............

CZ Rami. I have owned a ton of CZs and wish I had all of them back, except the "little" Rami.. After a spell of not shooting enough to be confident with the first round double action I moved over to the Glock side.

The Rami seems like the most awesome idea if you like CZ's. Unfortunately I did not check the specs carefully to realize that it was 4 in thick. Seriously, if you think a g26 is thick, try this thing. The main thing I loved about the CZ guns was how thin they were and how they fit my hand. The Rami was obviously built for a Sasquatch.
