I wish they would use cree LEDs vs German sources but such is life!
Was just looking at some front dual auxilliary light LED kits from Custom Dynamics, and they are using Cree’s LEDS. Not sure how many other of their products use them.

I need to pony up for the HD accessory driving lights kit, to mount on my crash bar. I've got some nice amber LED lights to put in, but need the buckets, wiring, etc.

I know there’s always a few complainers leaving negative reviews, but be sure to read the reviews on the parts page if you are looking at the ones I am thinking about. Also check out the Utah Harley parts page. They are discounting some HD parts pretty nicely.

I'd be having the dealer do the install as I'm all thumbs & have 2 left feet with electrical crap & swap the innards once it's done. I'll have to buy it from them, but they give me a 10% military discount & their service dept. is awesome.

Service Manager is super cool & always takes good care of me on the rare occasions I've had to bring the bike to them.

ETA- Down Home HD in Burlington. Great place, good folks. FWIW, quite a few PDs & Sheriff's Depts from areas with their own large dealerships bring their bikes to Down Home for maintenance & repair.

Probably not a bad strategy. I’m still polishing out the big scuff I managed to put in one of my hard bags installing the additional rear LEDs. Just ordered some McGuires Mirror Glaze to polish out the swirl marks from the polishing compound.

I pieced together all the pieces-parts for the long discontinued tach kit for my '02 FXD. Downloaded the factory instructions, grabbed my factory service manual & set to it. Tach worked great, but dead speedo. Had to take it to dealer. They thought speedo was toast & sent it out for testing & repair. Speedo shop says it's GTG. There was an error in the instructions & they had my bike over 2 weeks, before they found the error in the wiring. Only charged me $200 & I know damned well they had way over 2 hours shop time in it, along with whatever it cost to send the speedo out.

I do most everything myself from cams/bearings/lifters swap to building the FL forks on my Super Glide, but when something's outside my skill level, I go to Down Home.

Still check the reviews. On the lights I was looking at there were some premature failures or other issues, and the reviews were pretty sketchy on the ones I was looking at. The Custom Dynamics seem to do a better job overall with their actual lighting than HD, but you’d still need to get the chrome housings from HD

I did all of the maintenance on my bikes that I was able to do. The one job that I absolutely hated was changing the oil in the fork tubes. Since I don't have a bike now, and likely never will, I don't have to worry about it.

But, there is a very nice '05 FXDI over here that I've been ignoring as much as I can.

They just stopped making the Dyna line of HD’s, so you better buy it. I don’t what the heck they were thinking.

In related news, my 30th anniversary is today and the missus gave me a card with checks in it specifically for motorcycle parts.

The note was written in Russian (thanks to Google translate) because I may or may not have at one time accused her of being a Russian bride due to our inability to understand WTH the other was saying.

So I just learned one of my new riding buddies used to work for the NSA, like 25 years ago. Interesting.

20200905_134218.jpg Ran into a 2012 Dyna 103, guy bought it new, put 5000 miles on it, and died. Been sitting for 6yrs. My buddy owns a bike shop, before the wife put it up for sale, he put new tires, battery, cleaned out the gas system, 3 hole oil change, got it running. Just caught my eye. Mine now.
I now have 6, need to get rid of one to make room and restore the proper motorcycle ratio to keep the missus happy. Anyone need an old Ironhead???

That HD is living up to its name, "Hundred Dollars" everytime you turn around!
My wife keeps saying, “What are these boxes that keep coming in?!".

That seat is four HDs
Pretty close. $350 all in.
Which was actually a bargain compared to all the others. I’m tall so this one sits me back an inch or two, and two inches wider than factory. I’m not fat. Just big. I’ll work on the break-in tomorrow.

A Corbin seat in leather was going to be $900. I ain't paying that kind of scratch.

I put a Saddlemen on mine......1500ish break in miles.....it's getting better but damn it's hard....the passenger seat seam is to high and my wife has a hard time with it....saddlemen said "sorry we can't do custom work"

You did right. I've ass-tested a dozen Corbin seats of all shapes and every single damn one of them was hard as a freakin rock. I believe the parent company is quick-crete.
I don't know why they think they can charge space shuttle prices for them either. They gotta be made for super uber fat guys who could sit on the frame itself and not even know, because if you got even one nerve ending in your cheeks the corbin will have you begging to be sent back to Gitmo for some fresh water-boarding.

Check out C&C Custom Seats. Brown diamond stitch leather seating & re-covered my sissy bar pad to match for $550, shipped. Corbin shaped seat, but not nearly as stiff. Chuck & Chuy are great to deal with & do really nice custom seats for less than others charge for their off the shelf stuff.

I just broke my ass into my stock seat. After 8-10 hours a day, your butt gets tired of just about any seat.
I have to say that you singularly give new meaning to the term “iron butt rider”. My ass starts to get sore after 100 miles in the stock seat although it is great for short hops. If I can put down three hours and be comfy I’ll be happy.

I bought a Corbin for my dresser. It felt hard as a brick but was very comfortable to sit on. I wanted to like it but it put me rearwards a couple of inches, just what @fieldgrade needed. I sold it and got a Mustang. It worked pretty good. I could run a tank of gas out without butt hurt.

My last bike, I sent the factory seat to Mean City Cycles. http://www.meancitycycles.com/ I had the seat narrowed just a little bit in the front and memory foam put in. They even provided a relief area to take pressure off the prostate. It was the best seat I'd ever sat on and looked original. I shipped my seat and had it back to me in 6 days. They are local to most of you, in Maiden, NC.

I just shared this with my buddy who has the Indian. His has a great looking leather solo seat but it is too hard for him. He’d be hard pressed to find a better looking seat. Hope they can fix him up.

It's been 8 or 9 years since the re-worked my seat but, they did an excellent job and the turnaround time was lightning fast. I talked to them on the phone before I sent my seat and they were very easy to work with and very helpful to guide me into what I was looking for. I was having some prostate issues at that time and they knew exactly what to do to my seat to make it more comfortable.

I have a Corbin on mine and honestly love the firm saddle. The stock seat was too squishy and I slid around a lot, constantly trying to get myself into the right spot. I've spent many long days in the saddle on cross country trips, with a few days at over 1,000 miles. A little too pricey but after a test ride with a trip to Alaska in the plans, I went for it and have no regrets.
