i think they were saying “it took off” on social media. In that it was shared a lot?
Idk, hard to tell.

Oh ok. I got the impression it was removed. I'll read it again...

Edit: yup... Reading is clearly not my strong suit this morning...

I know this has been going on for a long time but are all the locals just assisted living seniors?

Why are they just letting it happen?

Sooooooo.....the lady, who was not there, wants to blame the police for the person not getting medical attention.

I don't know SC rules but in NC it's "until relieved by someone of higher medical training" which if the ambulance was on the scene "for some time", thus they were the higher medical trained.

Everybody want to blame the police for everything.

Oh....and I would bet there's A LOT more to this story than in that article. 12 people gonna pull up to beat your tail over asking to use a lighter and getting denied? I call bull on that story.

I was a Myrtle Guard and same in SC. I deferred to a nurse on the beach one time when a guy was having a stroke, she cut off his airway by putting a rolled up towel under his head. I jerked the towel away and told her to step aside.

So what else is involved in this story? Give us that wisdom? You don’t think people just jump out of cars and attack people? Bet they don’t burn down buildings either.

They gonna pick the wrong guy one of these days and it’s going to be on

It sounds, if I read correctly, they attack in their normally "no balls" blitz attacks of MANY on one. Very similarly to the tactics employed during the assaults committed during the "peaceful" demonstrations in Minneapolis and New York. I hate to stereotype but; sometimes the show fits correctly.

During the early 70s there was a great deal of racial strife in the military ranks and we adjusted our responses accordingly.

As I age, and become less capable physically of responding I feel I need to just stay away, near my vehicle where I can employ distance methods.

Those who are still more robust physically be careful and remember the first rule of any confrontation - CHEAT!

Not a medical guy, trying to understand this. So, he was lying on his back on the ground, and she put a towel on the back of his head, between it and the ground? How did it cut off his airway? Did it elevate it in a weird position? That doesn't seem right, I'm probably thinking about this wrong. Was he on his stomach, and the towel putting pressure on his neck?

Look up head tilt chin lift. To obtain and open airway the head needs to be tilted back or jaw thrusted forward. Moving the head to a "looking down" position (like putting a pillow or towel under the back of a persons head) closes the airway.

Between being at N. Myrtle Beach in February, the Mexican Beer flu, and the many different protests here in the mountains, I have gotten to the point that I do not even step out my home without some form of protection. It has become the new normal for me. I guess if there is anything good about all this,it is that it has made me aware that I alone am responsible for mine and my family's safety.

Same here and I do not go anywhere without my rifle in the vehicle.

Hate to pile on, but here’s another shooting that happened early this morning...

That area is one of the worst in MB. There are some run down and seedy motels in that area. From Broadway At The Beach going south is bad, anything north of BATB is where the "important and/or powerful" people live. There's always a lot of police presence on the north end and crime is unusual there. No one important lives on the south end.

The article said that police were in the area at the time. Maybe, but the whole city of MB is only about 2 miles long.

WOW
When I opened the link I immediately recognized the place, just looked so familiar. So I googled.
Sure enough, we always stay JUST north of it at the Diplomat when we went to Bike Week, and I would stay when I was a late teen if going down for a quick night or something (my dad would book for one night, I'd check in and say he was running a bit behind, they allowed it).

Had a lot of good times in that area, just north is where the arcades and stuff were. The pavilion was right there with lots of rides.
Lots of good times.
Now it's been about 5 or 6 years since Ive been to MB at all, and then it was NMB with quick runs in to BATB or Barefoot.
I'll be going down in two weeks, surprising a friend for her birthday (her parents have a condo at NMB, she'll be there all week), and Ive already mentioned to Bill about carrying.

Wouldn’t you love to have access to the details of the information of those involved in all these crimes? I gotta wonder how it breaks down by age, race, resident/non-resident, etc to try and get a better insight into what dirt is causing more trouble. I know there are different categories of low life’s and what they’re motives are but I gotta believe it’s really only a few major groups for a few reasons ... robbery and hatred ... and just how much of that is actually perpetuated by criminals who live within say 15-20 miles of MB and see it as a hunting ground of tourists per se.

Side thoughts ... is the victim pool of tourists less likely to be unarmed (tourists who don’t have CHP’s or such)? Are motels posted No Firearms so guests aren’t armed? And the way MBPD has picked on out-of -staters many might chose to no carry even though SC recognizes their CHP but MBPD still would give them a hard time? With a major portion of the people at MB being tourists it just seems to me it would present a better pool of unaware victims for local lowlifes to feed on ...

@NCFubar, I am quite sure that you are aware that OCCASIONALLY someone will actually be so good to carry a firearm into an area marked as a gun free zone!

I know I would never do such a thing, but others might be so bold!

With any luck at all they will run into the wrong guy sooner or later.

As I think @wsfiredude said, hopefully sooner!

All property between 10th and 21st from 17 By Pass to the ocean is The prime zone. This includes all of BATB. After dark the blue lights predominate the light show there. Car breakins, strong armed robbery, assaults. BATB is an urban Nightmare. If you have a nice car, it will be broken in to. If you wear nice jewelry or a watch, you are fair game.

Down on the Boulevard between 9 Ave South and 20th North after 9 PM is a war zone.
Less than 10% of all the crap going on gets reported. Look at the stuff @RS just reported last night. This will make Ass Book but never the paper or TV news. Doesn't help the tourist industry.

I always carry 2 guns. I wear the Paranoid crown with pride. I have decided that I will Not be a victim. The ones casting those of us as being Paranoid are on their own. They are the "Rabbit People" that get hit daily on the beach. If you determine you are going to the Murder Beach anyway, I pray that your last thought won't be "Oh Hell I was told this could happen".

We usually vacation at Myrtle Beach every year. Stay down from the Family Kingdom and never had any issues. Of course we are not out after dark. My sister (our families vacation together) asked if when we are going to Myrtle Beach this year. I told her we aren't with all the recent shootings and the idiocy going on down there, we're going someone else and will not be going back to Myrtle Beach. We're going to the Outer Banks this year.

I can see that it’s time for me to start carrying a higher capacity sidearm.

One of the reasons I plan on riding to the gun show in Raleigh today. To look at OWB holsters. I usually carry my Shield. May be time to start carrying the 9c or full size.
