Whenever it rains for 2-3 days straight, I get a musty odor smell in my truck. No wet carpet or leaks of any kind that I can see. It's not coming from vents as that air is fine. What gives?

Is it an older truck? My hunting/work beater does this but it's 23 years old. It doesn't leak anywhere but I think it just holds the humidity in the air because it's not as tight as it once was. I've just learned to live with it since I don't drive it everyday anymore.

The a/c ducts on my new-to-me 13 year old Mustang were kinda musty. A couple of weeks parked in my due-west-facing garage/bake-oven have cooked any offending odors right out of it.

Over time, dust and leaf/bug junk buildup in the vent system. If it's an older truck it's going to smell like that. If it's newer check to see if it has a passenger compartment filter in your owners guide. If you have one change it and while at it vacume the vents. If it's an older truck try to get to a vent hose or opening and then suck out what ya can with a shop vac. If all else fails get a small ozone generator from ebay or Amazon and put it on your outside air intake while running the fan for a few hours. There is always the "Magic Tree" option too. Add as many as needed to make yer truck smell like a gay bar. :D

Sounds like the added humidity is activating something that dries out and goes dormant again later on. I would try steam cleaning the floor & upholstery (assuming it is cloth) and see if it goes away. Even human body odors in the seats can activate in moisture.

If it doesn't go away, I would still assume something in the vets.

no wet carpet, but what about the padding underneath. Windshield have a small leak? See any trails from water stains on the fire wall? May have to peel back carpet, remove some kick panel trim to see more area. Back glass can have a leak also

If it's a ford those vents on the back of the cab are prone to leak. Check behind the seat to see if it's wet.

Yea my 2013 F150 supercrew gets musty after a good thunderstorm. I determined it was the vents as well. They're behind the seat through the back of the cab wall. I've gotten to where I'll leave my windows down during the hot weekend days and that dries the truck out and I don't have this issue anymore.

Check the drains in your doors. They are prone to clogging and the doors will hold water and smell. Shake the door and listen for sloshing water after a good rain.
