Less than $800.00 per the boss...

What should it be?

I’m thinking Gen 4 G20 decked out with nights and a light....

Or a Ruger lightweight commander 9mm

Or.....????

The G20 is not a bad idea. I've shot a buddy's and it handles pretty good.

The Ruger 1911 lightweight commander 9mm is an excellent choice. . By far my favorite and bestest shooter I own so it gets my vote..

Getting a Glock is like getting a blender as a gift.

Yes, but a 10mm G20 with night sights, a TLR 1, a couple pounds of Titegroup, and a couple thousand 180gr FMJ boolits is like getting an $800.00 diesel powered, chrome plated, turbo charged blender!!

I’d get a Glock 40 and a light and then start saving for a deltapoint pro for it.

Glock 20, then next year do the Wilson Combat upgrade to it.

Well now....
Appreciate the feedback from some, and the snark from others....

For you snarky fellows, I’d like to dedicate a Volbeat song to you...

Over the last 14 years, I have endured an unfaithful ex-wife, getting stiffed for $120K from a GC (which cost me my first house), a devastating house fire, the unexpected death of my father, a nasty divorce, and watched my son go through a crippling accident which cost him a leg...literally. He had no insurance so Shari and I had to step up and help him get a prosthetic and learn to walk again. I’ve had a few personal loans here and there, and have paid back every single dime, with interest, as promised, and if I was a little late on the agreement, I ponied up extra. I may not be much, but I AM a man of my word. Now, I’m 50 in a couple of weeks and within $40,000.00 of solvency. No house payment, a little-bitty truck payment on a work truck, and a few odds and ends to get paid off, and I will owe NO ONE, and I’ve gotten to this point without setting foot in a bank or loan institution, and without using a credit card. I’ve busted my tail stacking towers and hanging antennas for 36 years....since before I could drive...

I KNOW how to make money, and I KNOW how to prepare for “rainy days”, but sometimes stuff just happens and you’re not prepared for it, and after the fire and the divorce, the last five years have been EXTREMELY difficult. I KNOW some of y’all have suffered the same kind of pitfalls I’ve been through, so at least SOME of you know....

Anyway, thank you, gentlemen for years of enjoyment on this forum. I see where I stand in the ranks. My skin is thicker than most people’s, but I’m smart enough to figure out where I’m not welcome.

Peace out.

What? Who said he ain’t welcome?
Did I miss something?

The comments upstream about saving for a rainy day, leaning on those around you and the number of likes each got probably led him to write that post. I would hope that the comments were made tongue-in-cheek and they were just good natured ribbing of a respected member but who knows

I know some people hate hi-points but this seems like an extreme reaction!

I’m going to explain mine:

$800.00 is a lot of options. Go big or go home then you have reasons for the accessories later like the light and sights.

Nothing mean spirited. $800.00 will buy 95 percent of the hand gun world.

@BatteryOaksBilly You and I think much alike. Old school.

Possible offense. I am no fan of men having to ask their spouse for permission for stuff, to include a lunch per diem. Sorry I’m old school. Buy and spend intelligently and no permission necessary. Same for wife.

If you leave that “thick skin” quote goes out the door. My sincere apologies if you are offended but I pay the bills and spend like the hell I wish. I am the provider and answer to no one. And since I pay the restaurant bill I choose that too. If she or someone else pays, I’ll eat where you say I eat.

Now I have to determine how to make this into a rap song tonight.

Anything but rap please!
Well.....or new country...
Wait, they’re both the same anymore, yuk!

They were encouragements to spend money wisely.

Nothing more, nothing less.
