When I first heard of the Sig P365 I was not in the market for a new carry gun. Ive been carrying a Sig 938 for a couple years now and have been very happy with it. But now Sig has a carry gun about the same size but holds a lot more rounds. Couldn't find one to buy but found one at a local shop I could put my hands on and that was all I needed to do, fit me like they designed it around my hands. Took a few weeks but caught one online at Sportsmans Warehouse, $499 plus tax, free shipping to their local store for me to pick up.

Ive been totally impressed by this little gun. Took it to the range the first day and ran about 500 rounds through it. It was extremely accurate, soft shooting, and easy to get used to. Third mag I put through it gave me about a 1" group from 10 yds unsupported. I don't have a trigger gage to measure with but I would put the pull at 5lbs max, but its very smooth, nice break, and fairly short reset. I bought a Sig P320 X5 a couple weeks before I found the 365 and I wish the X5 had as good of a trigger.

The grip of the gun fits me very well. Its aggressive enough to stay put while shooting but not so aggressive it becomes uncomfortable to shoot over a long range session. I don't have huge hands, medium large I guess I would say, but they fit on the 365 very well.

With the flush fit mag I can get just enough of my pinky finger on it that I have very good control with it. I like a nice high grip and my Sig 938 would occasionally give me a little slide bite, the 365 never has. Better undercut under the trigger guard and more of a beaver tail effect keeps the web of my hand away from the slide.

The bright green front Xray sight works pretty well in the sun, a little tougher to pick up in the shade, they glow very bright in the dark.

Ive run a little over 2000 rounds total, 99.5% have been my hand loads, the rest have been my carry loads to ensure feeding and function. So far I have not had a single malfunction. Well, the slide failed to lock back on an empty mag a few times in the early going but Im almost certain it was because of my grip. Otherwise, nothing to complain about. Bought 4 of the 12 round mags, they aren't cheap at $45 a piece, but they function well. They are not just an extension on the 10rd mag but a longer mag body with a well designed base pad that contours with the grip of the gun nicely.

The little gun shoots so well it gave me the confidence to try shooting an IDPA match with it. It qualifies for BUG but I decided to shoot SSP with it instead so I could load the mags up. The mags aren't double stack, kind of like a stack and a half, but they fit well enough in my XDM mag pouches tightened down a bit. Used a Remora IWB holster I had been using for my 938, fits the 365 just fine. Ended up 7th out of 45 shooters overall, 2nd out of 18 in SSP so I wasn't too disappointed in that. Biggest challenges in shooting a match with such a small gun are mag changes, trying to stuff a small mag into a fairly small hole, and maintaining trigger discipline on a gun with such a short sight radius, easy to jerk the sights off target. Its plenty accurate for the longer shots and shoots flat enough to get through the target arrays fairly efficiently.

Had so much fun shooting IDPA decided to shoot a steel challenge match with it the following week. Did fairly well, 7th out of 18 in my division, but again had to deal with the challenges of drawing a small gun from a tight IWB position in a match where draw speed and fast shots rule.

First gun I ever carried was a G26. Decided it was too big for my carry method (pocket) to allow me to carry all day everyday so I switched to a Beretta Nano. Carried it for years til I switched to the Sig 938 and only switched because I could shoot it faster and more accurately than the Nano, bonus was it was a fair amount lighter in weight. Was satisfied with it until the 365 came along. Now I have a gun that conceals as well, shoots better, is almost as light, but holds a bunch more ammo. Bonus is I really enjoy shooting it, way more than any other carry gun Ive had. Bottom line, its the perfect carry gun for me. Might work well for you too.
