Nahunta

Wasn't me persay. Someone I know ordered 100lbs of air dried link from them and picked it up. He then had a local guy(with smokehouse) smoke it with apple wood.... I happened to be lucky enough to get some of the mentioned. Best damn sausage I've had in ages! You could smell and taste the apple smoke. I prefer the hot. His was the mild. But damn! I'm hooked.

Neeses= okay
Riggs= okay(I bought 25lbs from them recently)
Smithfield= barf
Bass farms= really good.

This latest Nahunta= Holy Moley!

ETA: Jimmy Dean= LOL!

Yep.... so much better when it is smoked right. Hard to find stuffed sausage out in the country these days. There was only one guy up this way that killed hogs each winter but he gave it up about 3 years ago.

Smoking is a rare thing these days. I'm talking about backyard dedicated smokehouse way. Not the little grills or smokers. I wasn't involved in it myself. But I will be trying to get involved this next go round! Just to learn. These fellas have a set of rules by X amount of smoke with timeouts in between etc from what I understand? But dang! Results were off the hook. Applewood isn't plentiful here like in the western counties. I think the chips were bought at a box store?

When I lived down that way That's all in would buy.

Everything they do from the rooter to the tooter is delicious

Nesses is a far better sausage than Bass farms.That out of the way Nanhunta makes great sausage.

Nahunta is excellent. I have been eating it for 50 years. I have a lot of family near there. I mean, like, my aunt & uncle's house was on a road named Nahunta Pines.
