Today, a lady that I work with brought in a nanner puddin that she had made. It had cinnamon sprinkled on top of the whipped cream topping. Thoughts?

Did you save me a piece?

Not sure how to save "a piece" of nanner puddin. But, there was a lot left.

Not real nanner puddin unless it has real meringue.

Oh, try one with fresh peaches instead of nanners.

I like cinnamon. I don't think I've had it on anything that it made worse, but I've also not had it on too many non-typical foods......except one. Fried chicken.

There is a local joint that used to serve their fried chicken laced with cinnamon. I took @MuShu Gordon there when he came down. I'm guessing the new owners either ran out of it or cut back so much that you can't detect it. But, once I learned their secret, I began adding cinnamon to my flour mixture. Flour, salt, pepper, and enough cinnamon to just tint the flour where it's not white anymore.

Good stuff.

My wife grabbed the wrong container and sprinkled cinnamon over a potato salad once instead of paprika. She took it to the dinner anyway and none of us knew the difference until she told us.

Nanner puddin (hallowed be thy name) is only proper when it is traditional and no added yankee stuff. Who knew Mt Pleasant had yankees.

Nanner (noun; NAN-ner): That which is added under "The Breath of God" mixed into puddin.

Breath of God (noun): Topping for true Nanner Puddin, also known as Meringue [muh-RANG].

Puddin (noun; PUUD-ing): Made by divine hands with honest to God eggs, cream, flour, salt, sugar, and vanilla extract. Cause if John Mosses Browning (rest his soul) were making desserts thar is what he would do.

Now that settles it. Move along.

Banana pudding
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Type Pudding
Course Dessert
Place of origin United States
Region or state Southern United States
Main ingredients Bananas, cookies (Vanilla Wafersor ladyfingers), custard, vanillaflavoring

Banana pudding
Banana pudding is a dessert generally consisting of layers of sweet vanilla flavored custard, cookies (usually Vanilla Wafers or ladyfingers) and sliced fresh bananas placed in a dish and served, topped with whipped cream or meringue.

It is commonly associated with Southern U.S. cuisine, however, it can be found around the country.[2] Furthermore, it closely resembles an English Trifle in that it is assembled in layers and includes custard, fruit, sponge cake, and whipped cream.

Banana pudding can be prepared using a baked or refrigerated method, with the latter being the more popular, particularly among home cooks. Moreover, many recipes have been adapted using vanilla or banana pudding instead of a true custard.

You guys and your tin foil. Next you'll be saying the news media is biased.

nanner pudding should only have four ingredients: Banana Pudding,Whipped Cream, Bananas and Chessmen cookies. There should be nothing to add or take away from the flavors.
