So, reserves are down. Production capacity is limited. The expectation is that there will be high demand in the near future. So what do we do? Ship it overseas and to Mexico. There's a joke / meme that says something about how when China hangs the US it will be with rope they sold us too. Corporate greed for profit today is not always in line with our interests as a nation.

For the average consumer, this will translate into high heating bills. For larger, industrial users, including power generation, it can mean curtailment when it's needed most.

Of course, this is also on the heels of the Cyber Polygon "threat" and the fact that DHS has issued an updated set of security mandates that all pipe line operators need to implement within 30 days of today - or so I am told.

If I use a tank of gas, oil changes and heat my home, I'm still consuming the fuel. Idiot in the oval office forces us to pay more for imported vs domestic production. Just stupid.

We definitely want to use up everyone else's supply of finite fossil fuels before we tap our own -- meaning we really shouldn't tap our own unless we have no other choice.

If we follow through on that by using up everyone else's, ours will be the most valuable around (since no one else has any left). Plus, as other entities [like Japan, China, Europe, etc.] make strides in green energy solutions, we can take a page out of China's book and just clone someone else's stuff rather than go through all the R&D, ourselves. ;)

We just topped off our 1000 gallon propane tank for $1.60/gal. Not too bad, I reckon & at least we're GTG for a good little while.

Need to look into firewood prices soon. Neighbor knows a guy who delivers it by the dump truck load. Our wood furnace/boiler is supposed to be very nice & will definitely stretch our propane budget.
