Friend of mine has a Remington 700 and needs the trigger replaced. Seems it likes to fire without being touched...

shouldn't be that hard to replace.

This can't be true. According to a good friend of mine, who often walks downrange in front of his chambered hi power bolt gun:

"Guns don't go off by themselves".

I think pretty much every 700 is subject to recall.
They were replacing the old triggers with X-marks, and the X-marks happened to be worse in pretty much everyway, but I think they determined it was just grease screwing them up which tells me it's way too finicky for my purposes.
Anyway, Timney is awesome, install is easier than tying shoes.

If he still wants a smith I like the service I got from Aquilla. http://acgwllc.com/contact.html

I would check into the recall. The LINK to the Recall.

B&B Arms in Randleman are handling some of Remington Trigger Recall. They can install any trigger you like in the 700.

well normally they don't if kept in shape, that being said you never walk in front of a muzzle, you go shooting with this guy? lol

I haven't heard anything more about this. I'll have to ask him if he's done anything.

I'm not a gunsmith but I hear from a really good gunsmith that the trigger is either full of crud or someone has tried to adjust the trigger too far if this happens. It may just need a good cleaning.

Don take it to Darrel Bush at B & B arms in Randleman, they are the local service center for Remington, and have done hundreds of triggers on the 700's.

Think the faulty Remington 700 triggers are under recall. Just heard something about this a few weeks back. Need to check the serial number and see if it falls in the recall range.

Might be a free fix.
