I’ve owned a NEF 500s&w for a few years. It was a pawn shop rescue they has priced as a shotgun. I’ve rolled around suppressing it and have decided to make it happen in 2020.

not sure where to even start, I’ll be swinging mostly 545gr hollowpoints I cast out of a MiHec mold and powder coat.

typical thread pitch to have the smith put on the barrel? What tube diameter (thinking 1.75”). Baffle type?

second one will be for a Henry single shot 44 mag. Plan is subsonic yard varmit interdiction with that. Should I just overbuild a 45 can? Or just do a single suppressor for both and switch back and forth (not as much fun)

You planning on making the parts? Or sourcing them from what’s available?

I’m not sure what exists off the shelf for something like that. And I personally don’t have any experience suppressing either of those. So, I’ll just toss out some thoughts and ideas...

• my Beowulf is threaded 49/64-20, and I think I’ve seen some that are 3/4-24...but I’m not sure any of the F1 kit makers have those thread pitches

• I’d be leaning towards a 1.75” tube as well

• one silencer with two threaded adapters might be a decent plan if you’re having to buy stuff...build two cans of you’re doing it yourself since the material costs would be much lower

• I’d post this up on the F1 forum and ask for advice (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, let me know and I’ll send you a link)
