We've had a quarterly maintenance agreement with a HVAC service outfit in Garner for several years. At the latest service I was told we'd be needing a new AC compressor. Our 3-ton Trane unit is 15 years old, but seems to be working fine. Also, the tech who did the quarterly maintenance left the condensate pump disconnected. When the replacement estimate ($3K) arrived after a few days, it was from a different service company with a lot of bad Yelp reviews. I'm not getting a good feeling here; I'd prefer to have a local technician I can trust take a look and, if necessary perform the repair and future maintenance. I see other local companies with good reviews, but some reviews are from NY, GA, MA, WI, and I am wondering why someone in Wisconsin would be leaving a review for a local NC company... so can anyone here recommend a good, local outfit for this work? CFF is one place where I can pretty much count on good advice (whether solicited or not :).

A/C or heat pump? If just the compressor you are better off replacing the unit, it will have a longer warranty vs just a compressor and use the newer refrigerant with higher SEER.

Enviroair out of Garner. Iā€˜ve worked with them for several years and have nothing but good to say about them.

We've been working with Ideal Services out of Holly Springs since about 2018 and been very happy with them.

We had a service contract with ARS for years, then when several of their techs started moving to Progressive Service Company, we asked around our local area and got several good recommendations for Maynor Service Company.

Maynor's done a really thorough job these last few years since we've switched, and they don't ever try to oversell us on anything. So far, so good (for us, at least).

Joe Cool. Also out of Garner I believe. We have been using him for 20 years?
