My father in-law is dying
Lung cancer stage 4
Fading fast and not saved
I'm heading to Texas to take my wife to be with him in a few hours.
I will have to return home to work without her.
Don't know how I'll pay for the trip
Rent a vehicle and return to work on Monday
My wife will stay with him until the end
Lots of emotions and turmoil
Please keep us in your prayers
 
I am reminded of the concept of divine appointments that Bruce Wilkerson talked about in his book, Secrets of the Vine, I read about 15 years ago.

The idea is basically you ask God for an appointment with someone here in order for you to do His business on his behalf. You basically ask, and in my experience he'll do the rest. You just have to be "available".

Maybe you have a divine appointment in Texas. Godspeed to you brother, and prayers for your family.

We'll send up some for your FIL, wife and family sir. My father in-law passed away from prostate cancer in Nov. 2016. Be there for your wife. She needs you now more than ever.
 
Jesus told us the parable of the workers in the garden. Some started at 6am, some at 3pm, some at 5:59pm. All received the same pay.

This is a 5:59pm situation.

Lord I pray that he is presented the Gospel. Soften his heart the receive it.

Also Lord save travels for MMan and his wife. Make a way to have this paid for

At my in-laws insistence our trip has been postponed.
My wife is not handling it well. Please keep us in your prayers

Update.
My on again off again trip to Texas is
on again.
FIL has come to grips with the finality of his condition.
2 to 4 months, maybe.

as we leave soon on a mad dash to Texas.

Some how I missed this thread until now. Prayers out for you and he family MM. I pray your FIL's heart is softened and he accepts the Gospel of Christ. I pray for you and your wife in this tragic time. Be strong for them.
 
Heading home from Texas in a couple hours. Looks like I'll get home in plenty of time to secure things before the storm. Have to take the northern route to avoid evacuees from Florida. Father-in-law is one tough nut to crack. It's all in God's hands now.
