Neighborhood drone problem.

A drone-buster sign should do the trick:

Might be, but acting upon the self serving and unproven assumption that someone is doing something illegal or that might infringe upon your rights does not seem reasonable to a freedom loving man.

That is why I told him to contact all the authorites. Let them investigate thw drone operator and his actions. But if you are continually flying your toy close to other peoples’ homes and properties then thst operstor just might be a large Richard.

I have water hose nozzles that work to 50ft, esp with city water pressure. That should do the trick and I would love to hear the federal official that tries to bring charges on that one. "Aircraft brought down with garden hose" would be a great headline.

PS These High Priced yet Chinese POS toys aren't real aircraft anymore than I am a race car driver just because I drive past Concord Motor Speedway.

Has anyone thought of going to the neighbor, and talking to them about it?
That's what a reasonable person would do.
Then take it from there.
REASONABLE? NO! We need reaction!

Crossbow bolt with a Thumper head on it.
Compound bow, same thumper head.
That will knock it out of the sky but won't hurt anyone coming down.

Half the cars on the road have cameras on them, half the homes too, most businesses, EVERY street corner in Florida probably has a cop camera, google is spying on your every move. They are watching you now. why would you be worried about a toy drone camera? Drone hysteria.

They're looking at me!

Stop looking at your neighbor kids.

Appreciate the responses gentlemen.

Yes, contact was made with the neighbor. It did not go well.

Local authorities have been contacted and answer is pending.

(Edit) - And it is flying directly over the in-laws property.

Again, thanks for the myriad of answers.

I'm curious what the result will be for this. The FAA has made it pretty clear that we don't own the airspace over our property. For example, in NY, they've massively restricted drones for state parks (and most government own/controlled lands), but legally, they can only do something about a drone if it takes off or lands inside the park. They're powerless if it's just flying over it. The battery limitations of current drones often make "flying over" and "landing/taking off" one and the same, but the technology keeps getting better.

Because Curtilage?

  1. In law, the curtilage of a house or dwelling is the land immediately surrounding it, including any closely associated buildings and structures, but excluding any associated "open fields beyond", and also excluding any closely associated buildings, structures, or divisions that contain the separate intimate activities of their own respective occupants with those occupying residents being persons other than those residents of the house or dwelling of which the building is associated. It delineates the boundary within which a home owner can have a reasonable expectation of privacy and where "intimate home activities" take place. It is an important legal concept in certain jurisdictions for the understanding of search and seizure, conveyancing of real property, burglary, trespass, and land use planning.

Well MadDog, if your location is correct, bottle rockets are completely legal. See my previous post to see what could possibly happen when in an overflight without a NOTAM or absent a filed flight plan. High pressure lawn watering equipment could also be present and subject to sporadic activation to ensure the heads are properly aligned.

When you said it didn’t go well ... what happened?

I THINK he said this was down in FL, it's not him but the inlaws or something

In which case high pressure lawn irrigation equipment is in order. Since Florida is often about as hot as the hinges of hades, there will be lots of water evaporation and to combat this use high flow rates.

Take up nude sunbathing. If they are spying on them, taking inappropriate pictures, then boom...got em....if not, then hey, you get a really good tan.
