A buddy of mine invited me up to go trout fishing today. It's never a bad day to fish, but it's always a great day when you catch your limit. Gonna eat good tonight.

Nice catch. Used to work for a small trout farm in Banner Elk. Owner was an young (rich) hippie and he would just let us seine some trout when we were hungry. Buddy of mine built an outhouse style smoker and for one summer I think we lived on 6-7" smoked trout. The smaller seemed best for smoking. With the larger we became culinary experts and made trout almandine!

Wow, what the heck is the limit? That is a bunch of nice fish. And where did you catch them all?

As a buddy of mine said several decades ago:

"The fishing's always good. You may not catch anything, but the fishing's always good."

Crickets...;)

I wasn't looking for GPS coordinates just a body of water. Trust me, I've sent people on wild goose chases when they were looking to find one of my fishing spots. There is probably still a bost full of Canadians looking for a special shoal in Lake Ontario somewhere.

How are they best prepared? Local Teeter has them.on sale thought they aren't as fresh as those!

Tasty as hell, breaded with cornmeal & fried.

2 of my uncles took me canoeing & trout fishing in the Ozarks when I was 14. 3 days of fishing & 2 nights camping on a sand bar. Fresh trout 3 meals a day, livin' on trout, canned green beans & bacon & a couple cases of Schlitz.

I've done the same thing a few times myself lol.
I did recently break my own rule, though. Have a feller at my company from Alabama up here working for a couple of months. Felt kinda sorry for him and told him how to get to my honey hole.
He came in Monday morning with pictures of about a dozen 3-5 lb river cats :)

Me and my brother actually followed a guy once. This a-hole was keeping a double limit of huge smallmouth every day. So we followed him one day. Got a rough idea where he was going. Spent about 4 hours pinpointing the small rock formation under the water and then went back and released all his fish from his livewell in a drunken stupor. Oh to be young again.

The fishin might be bad one day, but there's never a bad day of fishin! I went last Wednesday and caught 18 in the catch and release section of wild water.
