New GMC HUMMER

Base: $80k. Upwards from there in what look like 10k increments until you reach the summit: $112,000.

18 feet long. 11 foot wheelbase. 6'9" tall. Just perfect for that family outing on the Rubicon Trail.
Closest to "off-road" that most of these things will experience will be if they're repaving the parking lot over at the Wegmans...

I like it. o_O:cool: but I’m a nerd.

I’d like it a lot more if it was diesel.

Just don’t understand the logistics, you are on a ticking clock as soon as you leave. Where are you supposed to recharge if you take this out to the mountains over a weekend especially when you take into account getting there and home? I just can’t get past the tethering to a charging station outside of an urban environment.

Lower price point than the original H1.

The one thing I did like was the 10 minute fast charge. It will give you approximately 100 miles of range for a 10 minute quick charge. Still an EV and many limits on it, but it surprised me at the details.

Piece of cake - just bring some solar panels with you. With good weather, you could recharge in just a couple of months!

A bunch of solar panels on a little trailer, maybe even put a little wind turbine on it and you can charge as you drive LOL

Kinda cool, buuuuut.

Its a first gen...Prolly a lot of unproven tech... many questions though..longevity of batteries, cost to repair or .replace them once they go south..what is the towing capacity, crap like that.

Curious what the TCO is compared to a regular gasser..112k vs 60k truck you may spend 8k a year on in fuel, etc.
Very cool..but zero interest in being a beta tester. Newt to see where things are going though.

Damn, 30 seconds in and I felt like it was a crappy hollywood movie, about gubment motors. Pass.

I like when they removed the roof and said see it like you never have before.....I own a Jeep and have for many years....trust me, Jeep owners have seen it for a long time, you're late to the party gub motors.

You've never see it going that quick i think it's what they meant to say.

In talking actual vehicle quickness. Not how fast you can pull the top panels off and not find a place to put them. [emoji23]

Reactions: Me.
I think it’s a pretty cool vehicle, interesting re-purposing of the Hummer brand. Unfortunately, it’s a GM product, a lot of tech and general new stuff for GM, which makes for a scary 1st gen. If Tesla released this, 200kwh+ truck that looks like a truck, it would be huge.

First year is the higher early adopter price. Collector status. For most it will never be more than a lottery list item.
It would be awesome to one in Uwharrie traversing the worst that Wolf's Den or Daniel have to offer.
Hood deep in the clay soup bowl. No engine to hydrolock.

Looks like the electric offspring of a Chevy Avalanche and a Honda Ridgeline. Hard pass

Just imagine how insane the top tier C8 mid engine Corvette is going to be. The base C8 that’s out now is very impressive.

Just wait until they put a 900+ hp engine in the maxed out C8.

GM isn’t going to allow an electric SUV to dominate their performance lineup.

However, I wouldn’t buy anything produced by GM now. Not after the crap they pulled regarding ventilators when this Chinese flu crap started.
