New member here. Moved here from behind enemy lines to Cary. I got into shooting back in 1999 and haven't looked back since. Was on a forum called Calguns when I lived in CA and that's how I found this site. Anyways love this State and how the majority of people I meet are into firearms as well.

Welcome,
You'll fit right in here.
I've been 4 years out from a 50 year native of Ca. There are a few others around here too.

Enjoy!

Welcome!

@87Sammy welcome.
What city in Cali are you from? I left Rancho Cucamonga CA, 10 years ago only going back to visit family.
We moved from Hemet. About a little over an hour from Rancho Cucamonga. Hemet is full of homeless crackheads, tweakers, hookers, criminals and other lowlifes. I thank God everyday that I was able to move my family here.

But on the plus side it had great off-roading! About 10 years ago I escaped San Diego (40 year native) for SC and have not looked back.

Welcome to CFF. Hope you enjoy the forum.

The off roading was really good. We would ride our dirt bikes from Bea Canyon up to Pine Cove above Idlywild. The one thing I miss is all the amazing Mexican food especially all the great taco shops in SD. Still wouldn't trade it though for living here.

I also miss BLM land, so mush desert land to explore by 4x4, spend the day or weekend exploring and shooting.

Ocotillo Wells was so much fun, especially Shell Reef.
I spent a good 30+ years thumping around Ocotillo, Buttercup and Gordon's Well on motorcycles, 3-wheelers, Dune Buggy's and Jeeps. Really the only thing I miss from Cali minus the Mexican food like you mentioned.

Have you found any areas to go off roading out here?

Due to my inability to make wise decisions with throttles I sold everything in San Diego before I moved out here and focus on shooting now :D

That being said there are quite a few folks here on CFF that off-road with Jeeps and ride motorcycles. Start a thread and I'm sure the NC folks will jump in with suggestions where they go.

Welcome and thanks for joining up with us here. I'm hoping you'll find this to be the very best internet hangout ever and please reach out to others to join up with us here also.

And thank you for posting inside this thread so all of us can extend a welcome and get to know you !

We're SO MUCH MORE than a firearms forum !

Don't be frightened when you go to the range and see guns that hold more than 10 rounds. I know we CA people were told that the 11th round is the evil one, but that may not be true.
