With the flood of new members selling stuff these days I have need a lot of people no following the the classified rules. Everything from not listing a price on a FS/FT to deleting items from the add once it is sold. I have seen a lot of ads edited to remove the price and the pics of the item sold.

I am all for new people getting in here and selling stuff but they need to follow the rules. If they don't they should be banned from the classifieds. Many of us have been here for years not. Buying and selling and doing it within the rules. IMHO these new sellers either need to get it right or they should lose their privilege to sell here after a single warning. It does not have to be permanent ban of selling but a 30 -60 day ban would drive the point home.

I’m going to manipulate the ammo market. After I sell some 9mm and mark it sold, I’m going to change the posted price in the ad to twelve dollars a round.
And then accuse me of ad stomping ? :D

I don't really have a dog in the fight so it doesn't really bother me. I think I've probably gave away more than I've bought or sold in the classifieds. It just seems to me the people complaining about it recently can't even cough up TWENTY BUCKS... to help the site. Or if they are subscribed it's because it was given to them (which I really didn't agree with giving people a membership who haven't contributed in the last few years, hoping they would somehow come around...)

Lmao. May as well turn this into a Spider-Man thread now. This one bout to get big time derailed

Move it to Tortuga, so we can speak candidly, as men.

Or women, or non-binary. Don’t care. Just here for the laughs.

I’m assuming it will get moved, so I’ll speak candidly.

I don’t give a rat's spring scented patoot what happens with the ads after the item is sold or no longer available.

I don’t see why someone buying or selling is expected to also provide a free Blue Book of Gun values for all these other strangers to research what we bought or sold.

Thanks for your input

At least they contribute something that way

My first post at a forum we do not speak of was an $1800 shotgun for sale. It was a great ad, lots of pics, with history on the gun, and it got sold. I liked it there and stayed. Honestly, the rest is just being soup nazis.

I've just started ignoring idiots that can't be bothered to read/follow rules or can't be bothered to respond to PMs. If I miss out on something they cell/sale/sail, oh well.

That wouldn’t be a good business move. The site would lose a lot of hits and views.
This site does not benefit from hits and views. We don't rely on outside income. We operate on supporting memberships and from our vendors and sponsors only.

I respect your view but the motivation for the recent “giveaway” wasn’t really that (although we were hopeful it might become a side benefit). The donors wanted to contribute to the forum while also doing something nice for a few people. I believe that “event” generated several hundred dollars towards keeping the forum thriving; between the donations and people who decide to go ahead and “pay up”. ;)

With meringue
They were serving 'nanner pudding in Carthage at the air strip when we were there two days ago.
When someone tells me whipped egg whites ( only sissies eat that) are better than whipping cream that is 35% butter fat (as opposed to half and half which is 10% butter fat, or whole mile which is 3.5% butter fat), they are simply retarded.

Also, we are rapidly approaching the forum's 4th anniversary in December. For those that have been here from the beginning you know that we have done some pretty good anniversary giveaways to supporting members. Stay tuned because we'll be making an announcement in the not too distant future.

The site benefits when new folks show up here and participate. A gateway to achieve that is often the BSTs. It was for me. I may be abnormal, but I ain’t THAT abnormal.

Beyond that seems a little like attempts at social engineering to me.

I like pie and cake, especially when it's underneath a big ol' pile of ice cream. :)
When I have cake or pie with ice cream, it’s usually three parts ice cream, and one part whatever else.

Well I guess we should just scrap the rules in the classified sections then. I guess I always considered content to be king. Adding meaningful content to the forum is more important in keeping a forum alive then $20 in the kitty but I guess yet again I am incorrect. Meaningful content posts, recommendations, shared knowledge and helping people find what they are lookinf for is why people post here. I guess I was wrong. Not the first time not the last. Sorry I bought it up.
