Looking to upgrade the glass on my PRS production rig. I have a Gen 1 Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 now. Theres nothing wrong with it I just want something with 10 MIL per rev of the turret. I can get the Gen 2 PST Viper 5-25x 50 for $780. MY question is if there is anything else out there worth looking at? I want it in MRAD turrets and reticle with a christmas tree style. It will probably go in a seekins 20 MOA mount just like my current setup ( which will be moved to my rimfire trainer) . So whats out there thats as good or better than the gen 2 PST? Keep in mind that for production class the scope has to have an MSRP below $2000 which sucks because if it was higher I would buy an razor HD and be done. Thanks

Have you just looked for a used razor?

Is the MSRP thing a new rule or something? I haven't shot a match in like 2 years, so I'm a bit out of touch.

Production class is Rifle less than $2500 MSRP and Scope less than $2000 MSRP. So you can't buy a used AMG or something like that because its based off of MSRP. Trust me If I could I would lol

The gen 1 razor is an MSRP of $1999 but I hate to buy another gen 1 optic although I'm sure its better than my current.

Yeah its supposed to be a class to keep cost down. Funny thing is now MPA and GAP and others are building rifles that cost $2499 to fit in the rules which are basically open rigs with a few corners cut.

There's a pretty decent difference in clarity between the PST and razor even for the gen 1

They created a class for people to get competitive in without spending a fortune. As said it has price limits on the rifle and optocs and what you can modify. I bought the 6 cm savage elite precision for that class.

Gen 1 has small turrets and each rev is like 5 mil. The gen 2 have big turrets and each rev is 10 mil. I think the glass is a bit better. The illumination is also moved from the eyepiece to the same knob as the parallax. Turret is the big difference.

Compared to gen 1 razor the razor still has bigger tube 34 vs 30mm and better glass at the edges.
