First, thanks for all you guys are doing. Second, I understand the priority of request, so no need to worry about doing this "right now". But, There are several forums I am on that use vbulletin and 2 features make the experience enjoyable to me. First is a "New Posts" button. This will show me all posts, in all threads, since the last time I checked. The other forum also had this. Second, there was also a "Mark Forums Read" button. Again, the old forum had it, but more importantly it is a feature of vbulletin.

When you guys get a breath, I would like to see these feature turned on.

Thanks

Mike

And there's a Mark This Channel Read at the bottom of each forum...and a Mark Channels Read button at the bottom of the main forum page.

Does the "New Topics" button not provide new posts functionality?

No Joe. It does not work the same as I am talking about. It has the capability to give me a list of all new messages since I last checked, not just a list of threads that I then have to open each one to see the new messages. Also, with what I am talking about, when you have a list of new posts (not threads) you read one and return to the list, it is constant. With the New Topics button, it is constantly resorting.

Again, this is a functionality in vbulletin and it was exactlyu the same in XenForo.

I am not sure about the Mark This Channel Read on the main page. If it is global, marking all post in all thread as read, then yes it's functionality would be the same as I described. Just would be easier to have it on the menu so it can be access from anywhere. As for the button in each forum, what I am trying to get back to is global functionality.

I think they'll work as you want. Notice the one inside a forum says "this forum", while the one the on the main page doesn't.

Yes, after my last post I checked. The button on the main page does act globally to mark read. If we can get the New Posts button back I will be good to go. And if not, I'll work through it.

Homepage has it now.

Gimme a bit I'll get it into each section

Seems this is not really working as expected. Once I read new posts, then Mark Channels Read, then go to new posts again, it is still bringing up hundreds of posts. Even when there are no new posts.

BOG, this New Posts button is still creating a list of threads, not posts. Perhaps this version of VB doesn't have this capability. Thanks....Mike

The "new posts" would save some of us a bunch of time (that we don't have) when browsing. I don't stay on here long but check multiple times per day and it's really nice to just click one button and see everything, in all forums that's been posted since my last visit. Pretty please......

Also, please, when you get a chance, turn on the function that shows the actual forum a post is in when you do a show new posts.

Correct it's which threads have new posts since last visit.

I have real work today and will see what I can do with the rest of the stuff after that.

SIDE NOTE:
This entire server is just temp and we will me moving to OUR own servers very shortly so all the features we want to have can be made and added MUCH easier. We're pretty limited and I don't want to spend a bunch of time customizing something we won't be using for very much longer.

Agree with BB. Let this stuff go until the real deal is in place. Thanks.

Would be great when on new server to have these features also available for mobile users. The new posts feature works but for life of me can't find anything that would "mark forums read"

Thank you

It's at the bottom of each screen. If you're in a subforum, it says Mark This Channel Read. If you're on the main page or a section main page, it says Mark Channels Read.

Thank you. I was used to only looking on the new posts page for it. Found it now.
