Hello all,

I got one today that I had to share. When I was 12 I talked my dad into letting me have my first pistol. We went to store with condition it had to be a .22. I found a S&W 422 and fell in love. To me at the time it reminded me of a 1911 and it was the coolest looking .22 in the store. It always shot good and I can't for the life of me remember what happened to that one. The 422 has been discontinued for 21 years (1996) so I took to gunbroker and found one. Got a threaded barrel adapter and to me this is the ideal host. The barrel sits so low on frame that sights are completely clear.

Looks like you found a nice one.

I had one of those a few years back. It was a good shooter. Now, if I had a can on mine I'd still have it!

Nice S&W!

That's cool. Not sure I've ever even seen one of those. Was the threaded adapter something commercially available? Or did you have it made?

Their commercially available, Innovative Solutions I believe. I gave them dimensions to make me one and they didn't come anywhere close, and wouldn't accept it back to modify, $125.00 lesson learned.....

I got adapter from a place out of Greensboro, NC called Kinney Shooting Supply. I ordered Friday for $30 or so and had it Monday.

EWK is first class machinist, have several of his adapters, he also offers barrel threading service.

I've never been a fan of the idea of the EWK adapters using the Allen wrench inside the bore. Wish Twin Tech Tactical would make one similar to their M&P 22 adapter.
