new searles style bowie

here you go folks, its the one you been waiting to see. the monster overall is 18 1/2 inches 13 1/4 blade, balance point dead at the guard. handle when viewed from end is boot hill coffin shape. the finish to my searles style bowie collection. I got them from 9 1/4 all way up to 18 inch blade. the 9 1/4 is true to scale original. takes a long time to get them right and each one I make for myself I say its the last and boom idea hits me and off I go again to make improvements. there is an added pic of the balance point

my tribute to the bowie family, I read once jim wanted a fancy handle and searles refused to do it in what he wanted. I did, fancy guard and all

I agree. Take it outside and take a photo. This looks like a work of art but it is damn hard to tell in that lighting.
