So we drove to the beach to look at some NIB Colts in a collection and the fellow had a few other pieces. I picked up a deal in this NIB Vaquero 45 LC that has had an action job, and I swear has never been fired. Barrel is clean, not a smudge of powder residue anywhere. There is a turn mark on the cylinder from folks "checking the action" but otherwise clean.

Hard as they are to find these days... Couldnt let a nice piece like this stay behind. 20220925_121733.jpg

Nicely done! I have a brace of those I use for Cowboy Action and they are very nice revolvers. Be sure and check the cylinder throats, Ruger is notorious for sending those out with significantly undersized throats and it can very much effect accuracy. Otherwise, great guns and they respond well to a little massaging to make them even better. Have fun and be safe!

Excellent find there!
I’ve been looking for a 4 5/8” barreled Vaquero or Blackhawk for awhile. I have a 5.5” Old Model Vaquero but prefer the 4 5/8”.

I didn't think Rugers would drop the stop on the cylinder like that. Colts do if you handle them wrong and I know why but I thought Ruger had that figured out.

Maybe from dragging the cylinder while "checking the action"?
Yeah but the cylinder stop shouldn't drag the cylinder. With a Colt if you pull the hammer to half cock and release and pull back again it will do that 100% of the time. I thought Ruger had corrected that.
