I took a chance about a month ago and traded my Ruger Precision Rifle got a Remington 700 LA custom in .300 Winchester Magnum.
First of all my reasoning for the trade was that the Ruger didnt fit me, I just couldnt get used to a bolt action AR.
As for its replacement, as I mentioned it a Remington 700 long action, twenty six inch heavy barrel, cerakoted FDE, with a customized factory trigger with a consistent break of eight (8) ounces.
I've installed a Ferrell G-Force 20 MOA base and I sprung for a Sig Sauer Tango 6 34mm tubed 5-30X56 scope.
At this point my biggest problem has been rings. I bought Sig Alpha 34mm rings, I guess due to no prior knowledge of the 34mm scope world, though they are a nice set of rings, I got the movement to the rear that I need to set my proper eye relief, so the search continues for a more useful set of rings to mount the scope in.
At this point I'm really just getting myself and the rifle ready, worse comes to worst, I'm going to be changing a few things that may make the rifle user friendly to me, namely a length of pull adjustable stock.
On the same note, I have had quite an education as to the real cost of ammo since I got this rifle....... .300 Win Mag is some pricey stuff......
