NFA pic thread

I had been wanting to get one of those for a while, then one came up for sale on armslist a few weeks ago like new in the box with 3 extra 10rd mags at a good price so I had to get it. nice rifle and setup.
FYI I noticed the LOP on the factory stock was a tad short/uncomfortable (I guess since this is kind of a youth rifle) so I started looking into the Boyds and other stock options. $200+ on a stock for a $250 gun just wasn't going to happen so I took the butt extension off and went to Gander to see if I could find anything. Sure enough they had a limbsaver recoil pad (here it is on Amazon) that lined up with the Savage screw holes perfectly. Gave me an extra inch or so of length and is comfortable... for only $35. The comb riser is the factory riser off my Tikka that I replaced for an adjustable version, it happened to fit perfectly as well. Couple of cheap mods that have totally changed the feel of this thing! I may add a little weight tape to the stock at some point but other than that she's much improved!

El pistola.

Pretty much your standard PSA/Anderson cheapster.
  • Anderson closed ear lower
  • PSA 7.5" 300blk upper with 7" m-lok rail
  • PSA SBA3 pistol kit.
  • CMC 3.5# flat trigger
  • Vortex strike eagle 1-8 w/ mount
  • 20rd Lancer smoke translucent mag
  • YHM Nitro 30 on a YHM QD brake

Looks great, although I'm not sure you'll need that 8x shooting 300. Whatever you do stay away from S&B 200gr subs... worst ammo I found when testing 300BLK. The American Eagle "Suppressor" 220gr was by far the best factory load.

Thanks for the tip.

I didn't choose the 1-8 as much on the 8x as I did the price. I bought one from a forum member for $300, and I think before he even shipped it, PSA put them on sale for the same price (regular ~$450), so I bought another one.

Truth be told, I prefer a little more magnification because of my stubbornness when it comes to corrective lenses. Lol.

Sorry for the highjack but can you elaborate on why S&B is bad?
Incredibly inaccurate through both my 11.5" and 10.3" builds. Grouped like 10" at 50yds... 18" at 100. Compared to the 220gr AE which was 6" or so at 100yds. Still not incredibly accurate but about as good as it gets for 300blk subsonic.

Bummer, it's my go-to ammo for subs because of price. Guess I know why now.

Always wondered what these stocks were like. Found one in the BST at a price I couldn’t pass up. Apparently my CZ455 is now “Gucci” according to my 12yo son.

Started with this:

Ended with this:

Not the color I would’ve chosen but for about 1/3 the price of a new one (and this one had a receiver installed, then removed, no shooting) I won’t complain. :D

Didn’t really think about losing the stud...so maybe I’ll be back to using a bag, unless there’s another good option.

HK 21 is at TSC machine to upgrade and add a belt box. Hope to have it back next week.
You can't just tease us like that, we need more details! What upgrades, what receiver is it built on, sear gun or RR?

Oh and congrats on a nice addition to your collection.

LOL ok it is a sear gun, was built on a 91, Mike is upgrading what is left to an E, adding the tabs for the belt box and drum. Also trimming the trip and I’m going to use this sear in the 308’s and when my MP5SD gets approved that sear will be used in the 9mm’s. I’m not going to let him refinish it yet cause I plan on shoot the heck out of it. :) My brother and I are planning on comming to Billy’s get together later this year and hope to meet you guys there!!!!

How about a 12.5” 45-70 Marlin? Guy posted a ton of pics of the work he did here: https://www.ar15.com/forums/Armory/Marlin-45-70-SBR-build/51-498974/

Whole lotta skills envy going on for me...

@Michael458 - thought you might like to see the pics at the link above, and not sure if you venture in this subforum often :D
If that's the same guy, he's done several like that. I think there was a link to a .357/.38 done too.

Edit. It was a Rossi. https://www.ar15.com/forums/Armory/Stainless-Rossi-92-SBR-in-357-magnum/51-488171/

I'm not sure how I feel about the PA micro dot just yet. I like the sight, but I need to shoot this some to get an idea of whether I want to keep it on this gun or not.

Can’t imagine using a tube on a pistol. Seems like it’d be heavy and very hard to find the dot vs a reflex.

Yeah. It's probably not going to stay. I'm not really noticing the weight, probably because it's all new to me, but you're right about finding the dot.

I may just stick to open sights unless I find a really good deal on a reflex.
