NFL

Sounds like you could use a good dose of hockey!

I can't ever find the puck, old old eyes.

I used to play rugby, watched it a bit but the mandatory pub crawl that entailed makes results..... Hazy.

Anyone a Panther's fan but not a Cam fan? I still feel they could be better with a different QB. He was good at first but I think it all has gone to his big head now. Not much I like about about him even down to his nasty hair style and crazy outfits. We will one day be putting him in the "thug" category, mark my word on it.

Not sure about calling him a thug. I haven't heard of any violence or real bad behavior from him. He's a little odd and dresses funny, but that doesn't make him a thug. There are enough real thugs out there we don't need to pile on. Sure he's probably fairly arrogant but the other 31 starting QB's are likely similar.

Cam is odd as hell. I followed him on IG for about two days before I had to call it quits, dude cant even type in a standard font (ie: like any C was a cent symbol etc). Dresses odd.
When he's good, he's good. But he's been real hot and cold last season after that SB run they had.
We'll see what happens this season.

Cam is not an accurate passer.
never has been.
"can't teach accuracy."

Nothing about the Browns finally winning a game???
First win since December of 16

Browns beat the Jets.....

That QB looks pretty good. I'll say they will have at least 1 more win with him

Bakerfield is looking real good

I dont know their schedule, but they could get as many as 3 or 4 wins, I think

Watching the London game, that stadium is more packed than some of the stadiums here in the US!
How soon do you think till they get their own team?

No clue, but the Brits do know how to drink an enjoy a sporting event. I really want to go to the Dart World Championships there someday. I've watched it on TV, and it looks like a mix of Oktoberfest and a togo party.

When Cam is on, IMO he’s right up there with the best quarterbacks in the league. The problem is when he is off, which seems to be more often than not, lately, he is really off and things go downhill. The inconsistency is my biggest issue with him. He is cocky and I think he shows off too much, particularly for someone who doesn’t always put his money where his mouth is. Having said that, I enjoy watching to see which Cam is going to show up the game.

Today he's looking pretty good, last week was very impressive too.
But I agree, when he's off, he's OFF...ie: the Superbowl a few years ago

Yes, looking real good, today. And I agree that last week was an improvement from the Redskins game. I am still shaking my head about the one. Not all Cam’s fault for sure, with that one.

Was the 'Skins game where they needed 5 yards but just kept trying to send it to the end zone...and failed?
They could have won with ONE decent run to get that first down and keep it going, but no... Some of that rests on Cam, some on the O-coordinator

Yep. That was it! Not sure who was calling those plays but I firmly believe we could have won that if they used the time they had and made smarter plays at the end.

Neutral observer tonight, but tonight's game is why the NFL can really suck and is letting the refs ruin the game. It is also likely how conspiracy theories are born. Poor Panthers.

@CZfool68 can you elaborate on your posts please?
I fell asleep during the first quarter, it was 7-21 and the only flag I saw was an obvious hold on a jersey by a Panther on a punt return.
What happened?

FS Reid got ejected for hitting QB on the helmet after he started his slide.

Reid is good, but I doubt he's the one that caused them to lose by 31!

Well it appeared to me that all the spots were in Pitts favor. That one first down didn't seem close. Although I think Reid is a DB it looked to me like he tried to pull up and got Rothlisberger with his arm not his shoulder or helmet. So maybe a penalty in the current pansy ass NFL, but an ejection when a QB slides at the last minute is rough. The MacDonald TD was first a push off by MacDonald to get open and then no review when he clearly is not in control of the ball as he slides out of bounds. Now none of that would likely have helped the Panthes win, but there was a ton of bad officiating and it all seemed like the NFL had decided this game will be Pitts and let's get it done quickly.

Oh, and Reid and Rothlisberger were shaking hands after the play and ejection so the QB didn't think it was a vicious cheap shot. If Reid wanted to put the QB in the hospital on that play he easily could have. He trid to let up and lessened the contact as much as he could at that point. Those are impossible plays for the defense. Just total crap. If the QB does not want to get hit, stay in the pocket and either throw the ball quickly or hand it off. Pretty simple.

Now that I am calm and sane again, my thoughts: Reid's ejection was BS. I think everyone thinks so. Although I don't think there was a bias to tilt the game to the Steelers, I think generally the refs were much harder on the Panthers. The Steelers played a perfect game: they won't play like that again; it was just their night. The game showed Carolina's weaknesses. Pass rush? What's a 'pass rush'? The O-line has not looked that bad all year. Newton's interception wasn't his fault.

Both teams will regress to the mean: Pittsburgh is not that good, Carolina is not that bad. Carolina has a hard timing shaking off games like that, but they need to. That team will NOT beat New Orleans and may not be good enough to get a wild card.

It was also a great move by Pitt to blitz at McCaffrey all night and make him block big fast dudes. He stepped up, but took a beating and got bowled over a few times. Pitts line is very good so that was likely the pass rush issue. But you either need to blitz a little or find a creative way to hit QB's. The rules really favor WRs so if you don't hit or speed up QBs it is a long night.
