Ok this is almost impossible to describe but here goes.

They’re Vikings. But it’s a sitcom. Kinda. There is no laugh track but the dry humor is non stop.

They mix in common PC topics, common self help and couples therapy vernacular into the everyday Viking world.

I find it irresistibly hilarious and it’s the type of show you can watch while surfing the net on your phone.

It's definitely like the dry pragmatism of the Nordic cultures combined with the brutality of their lives.

Vikings were considered one of the more clean and vain cultures of the time. They used soap, something not found extant in the British Isles outside their settlements or imported until the 14th century, and were considered overly clean because they would wash themselves and their clothes at least every Saturday(if not more), and combs, razors, tweezers, and ear wax removers are some of the most common viking artifacts found. They were known for bleaching their hair, as blond hair was prized in their culture. And there are the many poems and writings they have. Well known for their explorers, singers, and strangely enough, political acumen.

The idea of the brutal raiding vikings, like many things, is mostly a Victorian invention. That era really screwed a lot of things up for us.
/end nerd. :p

The show covers that, as a Scandinavian by ancestry I think they did a decent job.

There is an episode later where a man burns down his whole village because he has hair loss. Super dark and funny

Sounds worth a watch!

I just wish one of these days they'd make an earlier show where people weren't wearing just greys and browns. Until about 1800, most people loved *very* garish colors. Would make it even more hilarious if they added that in, just to mess with people. :p

I agree completely, let's get some snail blue in.

I had been waiting for the new season almost as long as Rick and Morty...

One of my favorites on Netflix. Binged the whole season the day after it came out.

Awesome show. Apparently the seasons take so long to make since they film scenes in English and Norwegian.

Just had the two meetings on my calendar canceled for tomorrow. Gonna give this series a shot.

6 episodes in...

It’s as if somebody from Monty Python, or maybe even Seth McFarlane, wrote and directed the History Channel’s Vikings.

Ok. I may have missed something. I’ll ask it in a Spoiler so it doesn’t mess it up for anybody.

The warrior chick that was in the first two seasons (I watched 2 & 3 back to back, and don’t remember which episode she was killed in) and was stabbed by the mechanical hands...is it the same chick that came in Season 3 to marry the guy? They look like the same person, but if so I must’ve missed the fact she didn’t actually die.

You don’t need to hide the answer. Just a yes or no as to whether it’s the same.

Season 3 is a flashback to before season 1. Yes it's the same chick.

Thanks. Must’ve missed that somehow trying to keep up while also working.

Looked to see if a Season 4 was coming, and it seems like it is. Also found this little blurb in case anybody else missed it:

Norsemen is one of the most famous shows of streaming program Netflix. This series is a great collection of comedy. The third run of Norsemen arrived in July 2020. It was the prequel of the assortment of Norsemen. The third season was a clarification of the considerable number of things that occurred in the prior season.

Maybe I should go back and watch S3:E1 again.
