Sounds like the guns were originally not drop safe. They are only feeding JHP ammo at 95% and ball at 70%. There is a report that the Sig drop safe fix caused the new trigger to crack. If that is not bad enough it apparently ejects live rounds. Looks like the info is from FY2017 so prior to Sept 2017 because the Federal year ends Sept 30th.

Once they win the contract do they change (cheapen) the design or something? Or outsource manufacturing to the lowest bidder who cuts corners where possible? Are they making awesome pistols but really junky mags and cheap ammo to go in them?

It's also not that hard to image that soldiers are really, really hard on their gear. Something that's worked fine for civilians and police who carry in relatively clean environments may not stand up to being tossed around by 20-somethings in a dirt lot for days/weeks/months at a time.

Apparently the report was about an older model of 320 not the one our boys will actually bring to battle.

I didn't think the P320 had such problems feeding ammo. I can't imagine the production would differ all that much.
